Bill was a cool teacher: He knew sales like the back of his hand and was very passionate about it. He was a hard guy to read sometimes though. Definitely not a class for students who are afraid of public speaking because there are several role plays and presentations. Only one midterm & final based on lectures notes/common sense

Comment:

Bill is a perfect teacher for what he teaches. He makes the class enjoyable. It is not an easy A, but if you put time into your work, you'll do well. 1 midterm and 1 final. Make sure to study for both as they are not easy. You will need to spend time on the assignments in order to do well but I highly recommend this class. A couple role plays.

The first day of class may seem intimidating when he talks about all the role plays you have to do in the class, but they really aren't bad and this class is great for your future! It helped make me much more confident. He is super enthusiastic so his lectures are never boring (he rarely lectures). 2 role plays, 1 group presentation, 2 tests. Easy.

He gave us a week or less notice on big assignments!!! Ridiculous! And his tests are so specific with useless info on them-- a takeaway from the class shouldn't be how much the exact amount of money one of our guest speakers made in his first month of business. He's a super passionate guy when it comes to marketing, but the class is so strange.

You will love to go to his class, it's really fun. Involvement is part of your grade. That means you need to participate or talk with him during class. The more you talk with him in class, the better grade you will get. Test is easy, he would give you enough hints for the exam. Just go to class every time, and you would do great in this course.

Nice guy, very enthusiastic. Asks a lot from you as a student, at times I was thinking the class should be worth 4 units not 3. Brings in some good guest speakers and has a lot of knowledge in marketing. Is a little overly "in your face" sometimes.

Do not take Bill McGowan. McGowan lectures very little about what are on his tests. When you get the test, you will wonder why he didn't say anything about what was on it. He completely favors females, plain and simple. He is also extremely unclear about what he expects from his projects, which are a ton of work by the way. At all costs stay AWAY.

Best teacher ever!! keeps you entertained in class and awake. loud and in your face, much better than monotone. loves what he does and it shows! I have taken several classes with him and enjoyed every one!! He is the teacher you want to have to learn a lot. What he says is whats going to be on the test! Extremely Clear on what needs to be done.

Entrepreneurial MKTG ~ He's loud, in your face (which he calls enthusiasm)and tells stories about working for oil company Arco (lame). He's a good teacher, expects a lot from all students. Kind of a creep w/ some of the girls in class. Take a class w/ him if you wanna learn how its done!

I am appalled at some of these comments. I am a girl and I work my a** of in his classes to receive the grades I do. His motivation and expectations make you want to work. Put in the effort and he will help you in every way possible for better your future.

This class has a lot of presentations and a lot of group work. It's not that hard as long as you have a good group to work with. Don't buy any of the books because all the information he tests on is directly from his class notes which he post online. Also, the tests aren't that bad as long as you study for them. He is a picky grader. Good class!

Bill is very intimidating at first, but once you get used to him, is a good teacher. His tests aren't too hard if you go to class and read the text. But you do have 2 group projects with 10 minute presentations. Overall, I would recommend him, but don't get behind!

Strategic personal selling, this class is amazing only because McGowan is teaching. I recommend this class to everyone at Chico State, he is a fabulous teacher that will get you extremely motivated in your life. Trust me, you will wanna come to class because everything you learn is so beneficial to your everyday life! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nice guy, you have to do an advertising campaign. It takes a lot of work but in the end it's so much fun! Study for the tests and you will do fine in the class. His lectures are fun and he is always making sure the class isnt boring.
