professor drown is a nice guy and he definitely does care about his students. but his lectures are absolutely brutal. they are boring and he doesnt explain too well. there is a decent amount of work. 6 hws. group project. individual project. if you can get through the projects then i would advise taking him because hes an easy grader

Professor Drown is great when teaching statistics. The class is HardAF, I was prepared to drop in mid semester. But he is the best STA3032 prof so I grinded it out did the 15hrs of hw a week and Got an A in the class. He is ALWAYS willing to help a student and will stick with you to explain any concept.

Drown really does try to help you understand the material, he put off an entire section so we could review a part the class was having trouble with. There is a TON of busy work, and with 4 other courses you will be swamped. But, he also grades very leniently and is relatively animated in lectures compared to most other professors. Very practical.

This class had an immense amount of graded hw and projects. However, it was mostly graded on completion. The class isn't difficult overall. Just make sure to show up to class, ask questions, and think. If he sees you trying he will help you earn the grade you want. Great professor!

This is an extremely time consuming class. 6 hw assignments, group project, ind. project, quizzes, two tests and an "optional" final. It's not a terrible class but prepare to spend a lot of time for it. Drown is a great guy, but its hard to sit through his lectures. Statistics sucks, but drown is the only decent professor at ucf for it.

He is one of the rare teachers that actually loves to teach. He's not after giving you bad grades and is very lenient as long as you are willing to learn. He wants to make engineers not statisticians and that is exactly how he runs his class. Think like an engineer instead of just plugging in equations. Great experience, Mr Drown is awesome!

This professor like everything done his way. Make sure you do the a sketch and provide a theory use statement for every problem or you will lose major points. His lectures were much better than trying to learn the material from the book. I didn't end up needed the book except for homework problems and reference tables.

If you have a solutions manual for the textbook, you could earn a C with minimal effort (as long as you're good with math). If you're ambitious, you could easily earn an A. Not a harsh grader, and generous with partial credit and bonus points. Video lectures are rather dull, and the worst part: you have to do a GROUP PROJECT (for a FEEDS class!)

Take home tests. Alot of H.W. Group Project. Option of not taking final if you do good. Take the feeds class and you can watch the lecture at home and fast foward (He's really slow and boring).

I had to learn everything myself from the book. professor expects you to go above and beyond expectations yet he relies solely on the book to teach. only goes over book examples because he is lazy to do his own work.

Good teacher. Expects you to think not just perform. Doesn't really care about the final answers...but wants to see your steps and thinking process. If your answer is wrong explain why and you'll prob. get full-partial credit. Confusing material and the tests can be somewhat unclear. Attempt everything and THINK and you'll be fine.

Excellent professor. He is not easy, but he is a no b.s. kind of teacher. He expects you to think for yourself, but he will help you when you are stuck. He is very clear as to what to expect on tests. PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS! If you listen to his lectures and do the homework, you will understand the material and have no problems.

feeds class. at first he came across as kinda in ur face but as you move through the semester u find urself liking him. lots of homework (sometimes very frustrating), lots of quizes, and very difficult tests. gap b/t what's taught and what's tested. gives partial credit and curves. gives u the choice to opt out of the final if you have a decent gra

Dr. Drown is just looking for students who will think for themselves. He will help, but only after you've made an effort. He doesn't want to feel like he's grading himself. Statistics is a challenging class, so don't be surprised when they come. He's not as bad as I thought he'd be so if you have him, just know you'll get out of it what you put in.

I've found the class takes alot of work. Probably should be worth 4 credit hours instead of 3. His notes do not tell very much so you have to pay attention to what he says. You also have to read ahead in chapters because his Pop quizzes are terrible. I would rate him an Ok/Average professor but if there is someone easier I would advise taking them.

Show up to class cause he gives away some test questions during lectures. Tests are very long, but if you have trouble he will help you. Beware the "group meeting" with him, he takes your participation into account when grading your final

4 parts to passing his class: group project, homework notebook, pop quizzes, and exams. Studying one hour a week is not going to cut it. He is very intense but you will actually learn the subject of statistics.
