I loved this class. He is very knowledgeable and passionate. He lectures pretty much all class but keeps the lectures interesting. He also shows some videos. I learned so much, and I thought I already knew a lot on the subject. He was a very fair grader, giving me higher grades than I thought I deserved on some assignments!

Professor Strongin is a very good professor. he lets you rewrite your midterm essay if done poorly. Also has alot of papers, but they are short and easy to write. His sylabus is easy to follow, as paper due dates and their topic is written on there. In class, he can go on tangents about unrelated things, but, ultimately goes on track afterwards.

Rabbi Bill certainly is an acquired taste, but if you pay attention and chat with him, he's a fantastic professor. He's been teaching for 20-30 years and is an overwhelming body of knowledge for all of Jewish history. He goes off on a ton of tangents, but follow the study guides on the syllabus and I promise you'll do fine.

Professor Strongin definitely has a lot of sense of humor for a three hour Jews in the Middle Ages Course. It keeps me and the rest of my classmates from getting bored. I really learned very much from his class! He gives you the entire atmosphere of learning, especially learning about Medieval Jews? all around the world. I highly recommend him!

Comment:
William Strongin can be very rude to students. He has a dry sense of humor and he is very disorganized. He doesn't help students understand material and is not supportive at all. He gives a study guide on syllabus but the information but isn't helpful at all and he doesn't review before any test. Heed my warning and don't take class!

He's incredibly knowledgeable and is willing to discuss anything. He really knows his stuff and often goes off on tangents on class about relevant, yet irrelevant things. He gives you study guides in the syllabus and if you study and know them he's an easy A, someone who I'm taking again and highly suggest to anyone.

I took his Holocaust class just out of pure curiosity in the subject. I don't know if I regret taking it...I learned some things but for the amount of work I don't think it was worth it. To me memorizing random dates and facts for the final is pointless. Lectures are long, he just sits there and rambles and at 8 AM it's rough to pay attention.

I have taken 3 classes with Rabbi and can't wait to take a 4th! He gives 1-2 essays for the entire semester, allows retakes on his midterms and finals, and passes around attendance sheet so if you miss have a friend check you off. Lectures entire class. All notes on Blackboard and gives outlines for Midterm and Final in syllabus.

professor strongin is a pretty cool guy. he is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about the bible. the best thing about his class is that he gives students a chance to get a good grade by letting you retake test and papers. his papers are also not that bad to write there are not many class that you can write a paper on Star Wars!

Really interesting class, and his tests are really easy. You must show up to class, or give him notes to get credit for attendance, or have a friend check off your name for you. However, he is very hard to talk to, and I don't understand how I only got a B+ in the class when I got As on my papers and good grades on my tests. O well, I recommend him

The man is brilliant. He is funny, interesting, and will keep you awake. Rabbi Bill is a great prof and the tests are really easy. He basically tells you what is going to be on them. And there is one paper. The reason I love this class is because of him. Take any class with Strongin and it will go well.

Great Professor, really intelligent. An Easy A (a midterm and final, with 2 papers.) Easiest grader I've ever come across. Can get on tangents that make the class get boring, but other than that a real GPA boost! I recommend him to everyone!!

Professor Strongin is awesome! There is only 1 essay, which isnt due until the end of the semester and a midterm and final, which he gives study guides for! He is such a fair, understanding, and very passionate teacher! The books were never really tested on, only notes (LOTS), so I feel I wasted money there! Overall, awesome professor!

Comment:
Professor Strongin taought Ancient Israel at 8am last semester. The class was very dry which made it difficult to stay engaged when we was lecturing. There is little to no interaction during class. The information for the tests is not discussed until the class beforehand, making the rest of the lectures pointles for doing well in the class.
