Comment:
Spent a whole class counting his "um"s. It was a 1hr 15 min class and he said "um" 189 times. Went off syllabus first class. Makes up assignments and doesn't give specifics (compare these two shows. that's it). Drones on and on. classes are spent watching the same scene of a show in different languages. Never gives assignments or grades back.

Loves to hear himself talk. Takes attendance when no one is paying attention. Expects you to do the readings when he rarely brings them up in class. There was 1 quiz. Never updates Blackboard. LOTS OF GROUP PAPERS! The premise of the class is awesome but he ruins it with ill-prepared and long lectures. Doesn't stick to syllabus at all. Can't teach.

When walking into this course I thought that the class would be easy. Which in fact the course was. He rarely went off the syllabus or used the books he said to purchas. However, at the end once grades were out the grade DID NOT reflect the other grades that were given during the course of the semester.

Impossibly absentminded. Went off the syllabus after the first class. Expectations never made clear. Class structure was clearly not well thought out.

Will go on long tangents in German that the students can't understand. Assignments are not always made clear, but same format as 101/102 make it relatively easy. Fair but strict grader. Opinions on the language differ from the native German Frau Sutton, makes things confusing. Very knowledgeable but more suited for higher-level classes.

He could not teach his way out of a Kindergarten class. He doesn't know what he is doing. He was meant to teach upper level classes and not meant to teach German 201. He spent the last ten minutes of his class teaching the grammar portion and spent most of the class working with a partner.

This professor knows what he is talking about and is a very intelligent man. If you do the work, you are almost guaranteed and A. He teaches directly from the textbook and tests directly from the textbook.

A little tough--but you learn the language if you do all the work. Resigned about current status of MLL dept. but loves students who care. Very helpful outside of classroom. Very cool personal interests, plays German rock in class. A bit forgetful.
