Caring, soft spoken, patient, genuinely cares about students and attempts to make sure they do well. Material is tough but assigns bonus work - worth doing it. Awesome researcher as well!

Comment:
Very difficult course made even harder because Bill's teaching style is quite dry. A LOT of pointless memorization rather than focusing on concepts of biochemistry.

Comment:
I don't like having to give this rating to Willmore but the tutorials for BIOC3006 were absolutely useless. I attended all of them and they're only there for the sake of being there, and packing more information into the lab exam, which Mihaela marks and fails everyone on anyways. Hope this terrible course also gets bell curved.

Pretty awesome prof. Lots of memorization. He tries his best to have you suceed, he was willing to go over all the midterms multiple times so we could receive the most marks. He also gave ridiculous amounts of bonus marks if he felt the midterm marks were not very good. No required readings so you were tested on lecture based things.

Comment:
Really monotonous and boring to listen to in lecture, and tests are definitely not what I'd call easy, but he makes up for it in the bonus assignments, and also holds really thorough review sessions prior to the midterms. He is extremely accommodating to students, even when they take advantage and definitely do not always deserve it.

Kinda boring in lecture, but so is the material being covered. He tries to incorporate modern research into lectures, which is nice. He's a great person, very approachable, and understanding. He also gave our class bonus assignments to boost the midterm grades.

A very gentle and nice person but not really a good teacher. He might be excellent in research area but not teaching. Rarely replies emails and often out of town for conferences/ seminars, etc. A very busy prof. He likes to talk about research in the class, in stead of teaching the actual subject. A good prof for your final year project though.

Willmore's easy. He put all the lab reports online so we could copy them. I have a hard time understanding this science stuff... so being able to copy the assignments really helped my mark.

A biochemist who actually knows a lot of chemistry. His teaching is clear and methodical. He prepares students well for the exams and doesn't expect rote memorization. I can't get enough of this guy.

Doesn't know basic physical chemistry. It took him 3 attempts to solve a simple buffer solution problem. Unclear about thermodynamics and kinetics. Can't do arrow pushing, and managed to violate the law of conservation of matter when he tried.
