Comment:

Dr Allen is a very good comp sci professor. His lectures are very helpful for the students to prepare for the assignments and tests. However, he speaks really fast, and it's really difficult for someone who's a beginner programmer to get a very good grade in the class. If you take his class and you've never programmed before, read the textbook!

Dr. Allen will help outside of class if you really need it, but get in contact with him first. The tests can sometimes be difficult because the questions are not worded very well. However, he is a fair grader. If the class prods him, he will give multiple opportunities for extra credit.

Dr. Allen is a really nice and cool guy with a great sense of humor but not the best teacher. The beginning material was taught better but how well he teaches goes down once he gets to more complex material. I had to learn most of his material outside of the class by friends and the textbook. Class averages on exams should not be 57%.

Dr. Allen is an incredible professor. He cares about the content and wants you to learn. His assignments are difficult, but they help to prepare you for the tests. He is always available to assist with any assignment or lab. He cares about his students and wants you to succeed. Tests are challenging but clear. Hope to take another class with him.

This man's personality and care for our education makes an unlovable curriculum worth trudging through. New coding assignment every few days. He goes the perfect pace for the technologically incompetent, like me. God bless Dr. Allen, and God bless America.

He is very easy. He assigns homework every now and then but ends up doing most of it for you. His tests aren't bad. His final was a compilation I his old tests. He does also provide extra credit that adds to the test category. Very easy to make an A, even with minimal effort.

Allen is a great professor with a great attitude towards his students. He was engaging and clear in lecture and willing to take a moment to explain things to anyone who was lost. Assignments were fair overall; tests were somewhat more challenging. Would recommend.

Bob Allen is everything a teacher should be, and remains to this day one of the best professors I have ever taken. Don't take his classes for an easy A because they are not. But if you want to learn something and are willing to work for it then he will match you hour for hour until you get it done.

EGR 126 isn't really a hard class. 50 % of our grades is assignments. Therefore, one can really make a good grade in the class. However, tests are challenging because it's on paper, and one has to think quickly and logically. Dr. Allen and the class S.I are there when you need them the most.

CSC 204 is a hard class if you have never programmed once in your life! He is a great teacher, but his tests are extremely difficult! Learn how to write java code by hand! But all in all he is fun...just really hard!

I've had Allen for one class prior to this one (204), and he was absolutely phenomenal. 322 is a completely different story. When you have to take this class, be prepared for extremely hard tests & projects. Caffeine better be your coding Kryptonite, because that is the _only_ way you will pass this class with a grade > D.
