I studied with Dr. Castiglione back in 1983. If there is one professor I can remember and say "this person changed my life when I was a young undergraduate" it was Dr. C. Great guy who made me think about things differently, plus he made learning fun. I miss those days a lot.

How he grades is clearly outlined at the beginning of class. Attendance is taken and you are given points for being there. The material is very clear and you are given a study guide for tests. He also offers extra credit to boast grade

He talks way too much and gets off topic easily. The guy will get off topic so easily. He's literally so boring, do not take him for an 8 am you will just fall asleep. he has a few exams and he will literally give you notes and goes over them but sucks at doing that. i will never take him again.

He wants everybody to pass. 2 essay exams, 2 MC exams. He hands you his notes and literally goes line by line to tell you what to expect on the exams. Attendance counts! Every class is worth .5 points. 14 points by the end of the semester. He goes off on random tangents a lot but typically they're hysterical and "colorful" ;-)

This professor sets you up for success. Full in the bleak essays, multiple choice exams, gives you all the notes you need. Probably don't even have to open a text to pass. Just read his notes (which are pretty good). I've taken him for 3 classes because of it.

Professor Castiglione's Freedom & Responsibility course was one of the best courses I ever took in my life at Rhode Island College. The hardest part was showing up at 8:00AM. In this class I learned not to worry about things I can't control but worry about things I can control. We studied great philosophers like Epictetus. Helped my life A LOT!

Aesthetics was a great course with Professor Castiglione. The class analyzed pieces of art and more importantly defined "What is art". Highly recommended to everyone, no prior experience needed. Professor Castiglione gives real life advice. He treats everyone with respect.

Bob Castiglione truly is the greatest teacher at Rhode Island College. This is by far the greatest way to conduct a course. Go to class for points, 3 scan-tron exams, with an additional 2 extra credit scan-trons to boost your initial exam grade. 1 in class Essay almost everyone got a 100% on. 90% or > = a straight A. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This prof. is tough in that you want to take his class because it is impossible not to get an A, but the class itself and going to it is so annoying and pointless you wanna claw your eyes out. Each class he would ramble about random topics. Gives extra credit, attendance points, lets you leave halfway thru class. He is definitely...different.

Kind of all over the place with this lectures, try to tie what the text talks about with real life, not always getting the desired result. Very funny and super smart. A must have if you wanna have fun while you learn.

I have taken two philosophy classes with Professor Castiglione and am taking a third soon. He is an easier professor, but he is also very knowledgable, honest and helpful. Read his notes carefully and you will do well. Be respectful and he will be nice back.

Took his class in the summer, very easy, you can play on your phone while in class. Easy A. Took class in the summer, his attendance policies is not something i could keep up during the fall semester. If you miss classes he will deduct points, not fair for those who have a full time job.

He def. lived up to the hype. Attendance is a big part of your grade so just show up, it's really all you need to do. I did not pay attention to one lecture for the second half of the course, not one. Did not look at the 36 pg study guide for the final, and got a 66. End result of it all? 'A' in Castig's. Learned a lot about triangles though..

*Take his course if you think that college gen ed requirements are a joke. We've already had plenty of general education (it's called highschool). Instead of being constricted to certain topics that we must waste our time on, we should be free to pursue knowledge in our own way. Castiglione helps ease our pain by passing anyone with a pulse.
