I loved him but he SCARED ME TO DEATH! He collected papers at the beginning of the class and then would pull a random one out of the stack, cover the name with a post-it, and then start grading it WITH THE CLASS on the overhead. Needless to say, he scared me into writing some great papers. Sarcastic as hell and brutally honest.

Challenging-he'll push you completely out of your comfort zone and fight to keep you working at a level you never thought you could attain. Occasional banter and arguments happen often, but he's well worth the frustration :-)

He's not easy. He frustrated me a lot. But I learned SO much that I'd never trade my class experience with him! I wondered if he downgraded my papers to see if I'd rewrite them for a higher grade - I did. If he talks about those 8-10 people in his career of teaching comp who got an A in his class - I'm one of them and proud of it! He's great!
