Bob's philosophy class really challenged me. I was so engaged in his lectures. Make sure you do the readings because he'll randomly call on you. Also, he's strict about phones--don't have them out! Pay attention to what he says in his lectures because it'll help you with your papers.

Hard teacher, but so interesting. I took one of his philosophy classes and it opened my mind. I wanted to take other classes that he offered, but I didn't have time. His class was definitely one of my favorites.

Basic Ethics. Smart teacher, but very opinionated. Only covered half the book he agreed with, will grade you down if you have a different view on ethical situation. Creates own Ethical theories that are full of holes. Asks for your ethical framework in papers then tears them down if they are different then what is being taught.

Comment:

Wonderful teacher and really cares about his students. Interesting and engaging lectures, very respectful. The only reason not to like him is if you don't want to have to pay attention in class because he will not tolerate rude or inconsiderate students in his classes.

You will have to work hard and be prepared for his class, his lectures are extremely engaging and he is an excellent orator. If you are a Christian be prepared to have your set of believes put trough scrutiny and sometimes mockery. Be aware, “Bob is very intimidating” but one of the best teachers I ever had.

A really engaging and earnest teacher. Bob won't give it to you - he'll make you earn your grade, but he really does help everyone challenge their assumptions (not just "conservatives," not just "liberals"). He's really a tremendous teacher with a lot to offer students who are willing to be engaged. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great Professor! Really tests your previous belief system. Kinda gets under the skin of naive religious kids who hate having their faith questioned, but I think they need it. Really makes you examine silly beliefs of society critically.

He claims to be open-minded, but he is one of the most close-minded people I know. When he grades papers that involve personal opinions, he counts off a lot if he doesn't agree with your opinions. I will NEVER take a class with him again!
