I definitely recommend taking him for OC lab. His lab exam was difficult, but not because he hadn't prepared us for it. At first the lab reports seem tedious, but by the end I felt the reports helped me to grasp the material.

Great prof...difficult class but he makes it as easy as possible...little amount of HW 3 tests and a final are the only grades you'll give...tells you more or else exactly what will be on the exam....just a really nice guy that will help you out if you go to him for help take him for organic lecture

Bob Shine required lab reports that are the same format for almost the whole semester (Percent Yield Calc.). Lab Final Exam was tough; Qualitative Analysis, Percent Yield, Definitions, and a few essays. Helpful, exciting, smart, and just a great guy overall. Def. take him! - I will miss his goofy stories. Bob Shine is one of the best at Ramapo!

Bob Shine was a very nice professor, i was on the brink of failing computer science, i did nothing, and i went for extra help like twice a week, and he did the labs almost for me, and i did NOTHING through the class and he gave me a C, he said he wouldn't let me fail. He's great, a nice man.

Bob Shine requires detailed, lengthy lab reports which are not bad once you get the hang of a few of them. Very detailed lab professor. Lab Final Exam was tough; essays, NMR, and percent yield. Taking him for Org. Chem. II Lab. Do a very good job on your lab reports and he will have no problems with you at all. Def. take him! He is worth it!!!

New nothing about comp sci before taking the course, came out with a good understanding. If you pay attention in class and do the work instead of using AIM and playing flash games, you'll do fine. Bob is really nice and tries to be really helpful, he uploads everything you need to know on the course webpage. All tests are open note and open book.
