If you want to learn a lot in this challenging course with topics important for further study in Mathematics, I highly recommend Professor Datskovsky. This is a very hard class, and he is a tough grader. But you will never doubt for a moment that he knows his stuff! If you are here to learn, take him. If you need to protect your GPA, don't.

I had him for Advanced Calculus, a very hard and high level class. He explained materials in details and showed students everything they need to succeed in the exam. He is tough, but you learn a lot with him.

Boris is low key really funny and I think he did a great job of explaining things. Sometimes he can be harsh when grading homework because he's so particular about what he likes, but overall I learned a lot. He really broke everything down and explained it so we could understand it. But be ready to take a lot of notes!

Incredible lectures. Your hand will hurt from taking furious notes. Super well organized, no need to buy a textbook (rent for the problems) because your notebook will become a textbook. Not too much mandatory homework but if you don't do the optional homework you won't do well. Great class, learned a ton.

If you don't have to take Diff. Eq. with him don't. Quizzes and tests can be a bit extreme. Wastes a lot of time on proofs. I am a good student and spend many hours working homework problems and studying concepts but my grades don't reflect the effort. Quiz and test questions tend to be the most tedious examples rather than checks of concept.

He's a pretty good teacher, but he moves quickly and he expects you to put in a lot of work outside of class. He also seemed pretty indifferent to my class. After he was done answering questions, he would lecture without looking up a single time for the rest of the class.

He's a solid professor who knows his stuff. He goes through all the steps thoroughly but doesn't slow down. Quizzes are taken right from the hw, and he answers questions at the beginning of every class. Exams are tougher but fair. He may seem unapproachable, but he is a good professor and answers all questions. Little harder than 1942, but doable

I just finished my SUMMER I . It's easy as long as you do all the assigned homework. Tons of examples are given, and they help you a lot on solving homework problems. Professor is super nice,I sometimes did the problem wrong at the beginning, and I suppose to gain no points for the whole problem, but he still gave me points. may get B plus I guess

I needed his approval to take courses at another school. He was very rude & judgmental. I faxed the papers to him & he refused to fax back. He told me to come to the office but I was in & out of the hospital for days. He looked up my schedule & told me there was no reason i couldn't get them but never responded when i explained my medical issues

As others said, Boris is hardcore. Don't expect to get an easy A, esp. in 2196, but you WILL know your stuff. I ended up with a C+, but that was my fault for not working hard enough. Be prepared for A LOT of writing in 2196; 10 - 15 pages isn't unusual for a homework assignment!

Nice person in n outta class. 2196 is not an easy class with Prof Boris. Don't be deceived by the word "Basic" Concepts of Math. it's a WI class so he basically reads it like an essay..very particular about ur choice of words... Just be prepared to work and THINK..for 2196.

Boris is one of the best teachers in the math department. And his course will most likely be one of the most challenging courses. I would recommend him for upper level courses because he knows his stuff. If you take him for lower level courses god bless.

Well, Boris is pretty hardcore. Reasonable guy, but a bit critical to say the least. You will not have any self-esteem after this class, but you'll come out learning a lot. In a nut shell the guy is a walking textbook, makes few mistakes, and reasonable overall.

He is an easy teacher. His quizzes are directly from homework and he only gives you what you need to know. He is kind of unemotional, sometimes it seems like he is bored with teaching. And he has a pretty strong acsent (although it wasn't a problem for me).

The math department head...so of course he is the hardest teacher by far! Hard grader, very nonchalant man who makes it uncomfortable to talk to. Don't take this class if you don't give a damn about Calc 3 or if you want an easy course load.

Very Organized, writes tons of notes. Hard grader, quizzes are the homework problems. This guy is a freaking calculator that can solve anything. He will take off points off of careless mistakes and quizzes are harder than some other Calc teachers. Be ready to write and do the homeworks. Very knowledgable, I would take him again
