He means well, but thinks he's teaching grad students all of the time. He's a tough grader and doesn't help much when it comes to studying for the tests. He doesn't give constructive criticism, even when you ask for it. He expects you to figure it out on your own.

Don't believe the haters! If you are interested in politics and are willing to work hard, then you should take classes with Dr. Gomez. He is a good lecturer and he will help you in office hours. He cares a lot about his students. He does tend to pitch things at a high level. But if you do the work, you will do well.

Good teacher. Notes aren't on blackboard, but in power point presentations. Only takes attendance sometimes. Do the homework assignments, they will help your grade alot. Also do the practice quizzes online at the book's website. He knows his stuff.

seriously, this was the worst class i've ever taken. maybe it is because i do not like taking political science classes...i'd rather take a photo...but do not take this class if you do not HAVE to. gives you a lot of interesting information, but only if interested in the field.

Tests can be tricky and the 15 or so HW assignments are a bore but overall this was a good class. Dr. Gomez really knows his stuff and is willing to break things down for you. Lecture style is full of energy. Highly recommended, but make sure to do those HW assignments, they'll help in the end.

He's a nice guy and his lectures can be amusing, but his tests are ridiculously hard if you don't do the reading BEFORE class...which is not good because the chapters are like 100 pages long. The online assignments are also annoying to keep up with.

This was an overall unsatisfying experience. If all Poli Sci classes are like this, I will most definitely be switching majors in the VERY near future. It is possible to get a good grade out of the class if you do the unbearably large amount of reading, but don't expect any clarity from Dr. Gomez.

Only stupid people don't do well in this class. All of his questions follow from the basic message of his lectures, he gives you 15 points on your average if you actually do the assignments, and study time should be minimal. He's also a good person and very clear.

I hated the class. I found myself forcing myself to get out of bed for this one. His teaching style was lacking and is by far one of the most unclear teachers that I have ever taken. Do not take him if possible. There are better prof's for this one.
