Frankly, I feel like all of these poor ratings may not be entirely fair. Dr. B is certainly tough, but he is one of the smartest people on campus and happy to talk to you anytime outside of class, about anything. He is a tough grader, but that seems to just be the nature of the engineering department. I would take him again.

Dr. Burchett is a hard grader but he is actually a very caring professor. You will learn a ton from him if you actually put in the effort to learn from him. He is a very very smart guy so if you really don't understand his explanation, don't be afraid to admit it to him and he will be glad to help you out!

Dr. Burchett has very good lectures with many example problems. Don't expect anything to be easy or given to you. He's going to make you work for your A, but it's definitely "do-able" and you'll go into department tests/the final more prepared than your peers who have other profs.

I took ES205 over the summer which made it a little bit easier since it was the only class I took. Dr. Burchett has pretty good notes for his class, but it is definitely a difficult class. I agree with other reviewer's that he's not very good at explaining things in a "dumbed" down way. He does give occasional extra credit quizzes.

Dr. Burchett is entirely too smart to be a professor. He can't "dumb down" the material to the level his students need. He loved his old job modelling rockets for NASA and makes it apparent by using examples that pertain to rockets and not the class. He is unapproachable and has laughed at me for asking questions during office hours. Avoid him.

Classes were relatively clear. Lots of practice problems. Class format was very effective for me. Office hours are kind of sketchy. He will help answer questions, but he doesn't make you feel like a priority. Grading, and acceptance of late work is pretty strict, but that has a lot to do with how the ME department is handling the class.

Beneath a thin layer of external dryness burns the fiery heart of a savage. He likes to lecture, and is a really cool guy if you give him a chance. He uses lots of examples, and likes to incorporate aircraft in his problems in class. Frankly a lot of these reviews are unfair.

Lacks some social skills, so don't try to talk your way out of anything. Msys lecture was OK even being an 8am, but just don't expect him to be very helpful outside of class unless you want to hear exactly what he said in class.

Quite possibly the WORST teacher I've ever had at Rose. Doesn't help the students and any time you try to get help he treats you like your stupid and is no help. gets power from feeling smarter than his students. STAY AWAY if you can help it!

Boring, boring, boring. Fell asleep every single day. Played favorites, and didn't like anyone who didn't laugh at his dumb jokes. I went for extra help once and he told me that I missed the most important day of class (for a funeral) and basically, I was screwed for the rest of the course.. I ended up getting a C. Who's laughing now, Bradley?

He's one of the biggest dicks at rose. If you miss points on a test you shouldn't have, good luck getting them back. Also if you go to him for help you leave more confused than you did when you went. Avoid or your GPA will suffer.

Dr. Burchett seems really smart, but isn't a very good teacher. He moves really fast in class and it was hard for me to keep up. When I went to see him in his office, he usually just gave me the answer. Homework was really hard. Try to avoid him if you can.

Wow.... he's one of "those" guys who wants the class average to be 75. He grades tough, and when you see him for help outside of class, he's likely to do nothing more than just stare at you and be like 'ok' or 'yea'. Your ballsy if you want to take Msys with burchett
