Words cannot explain this man's worth to the teaching profession. He made history relevant. Not just African-American history, but all history. He was so important to my undergraduate and graduate studies, that his value cannot be measured. When I expressed my views in narrow terms, he always questioned me until I saw the issue in broader terms...

He's cool, easy-going, but a little too chaotic in this course. Once he spent a whole period giving a lecture about sth else because he didn't realize it was a different class - wow, completely high? Two midterms, no papers :( some bonus. He gets really angry when sb talks or comes late, then he wants blood, blood, blood! :)

EXTREMELY INTERESTING class!! By far the most interesting class I've taken at UL. Some days I wanted to cry thats how intense the material was. The guy is a total goofball, what a nerd...his lectures are incredibly boring, however, he only talks about what is going to be on the test. Tests are not THAT hard. If you study you will be fine. I couldn't stand the guy, so i never went to class after the midterm, and still made out with a "C"

Great man! The class is pretty interesting, especially for a history class. His tests aren't that hard. If you study, you'll do well. He tries to make you understand the work, not just memorize it. I can actually say I learned a lot from this class. If you need a history elective, take Pollock's History 110!
