Seriously the hardest class. She obviously hasn't modified her tests in years cause there was stuff she didn't even cover. She talks too fast to take good notes and she jumps from topic to topic a lot. She treats this gen ed course like its a 300 level course.

I loved Brenda Borntrager. Her geology class was very hands on and it made it easier to grasp the concepts. She would also always have a corny joke to tell about what we were learning that helped get the point across. High recommend. Very enjoyable. Lots of vocabulary quizzes, so easy points there if you study for them for a little bit.

Not the best, but not the worst. Attendance is mandatory to pass her class, which is understandable. She's quite intelligent and passionate about her job and what she teaches. However, she was often rude to students or became easily frustrated if/when a student didn't know the answer to a question. Tough grader, but offers good extra credit.

Wonderful teacher. Class actually got me interested in science (I am NOT a science person!!) Activities are fun. Tests ARE kind of hard, but I think that's more or less because they are kind of long and lots of stuff is covered on them. I loved this class, though.

I will give her that she wants you to succeed. However, 50% of your grade derives from tests. The tests are hard. I am not saying this from lack of trying. I studied 6+ hours for each test and still ended with a B+. Some questions cannot be found in the notes she provides. There is no study guide, and she does not review. I wouldn't take this class

Despite the other reviews, I LOVED THIS PROFESSOR! She's very nice. Her class was actually very interesting and not hard at all. The activities were hands on, which made it fun. Her exams/quizzes are not really that hard either. She gives you a study guide WITH ALL THE ANSWERS. As long as you pay attention & know how to study them, you'll do fine!

I took this course because I was interested in rocks, however all of this changed when I took her course. Her notes are stupid and they don't help you at all. She goes through lectures really fast and her tests are extremely tough. I went to EVERY class and still ended up with a C. She is super hard and can't explain things well.

She goes quick and it's hard to keep up. She also will answer your questions but I feel like she's annoyed every time I ask something. I'm not really a fan of hers and the exams are tough. Definitely read the text book and go over her (vague) study guides.

I love Borntrager! She knows everything there is to know about geology and makes learning about it fun. You definitely need to study for the tests, and I recommend actually reading the textbook. The in class assignments are easy, and if you miss class there are always ways to make up things you missed.

Wonderful teacher. Made a class that was dreaded easy to understand and interesting. She was understanding and very helpful. Would always meet if there were questions. I guess you really had to mess up if you did not pass the course. Study, be in attendance, and listen to the lecture. You will be fine.

Very nice professor. She is completely willing to go out of her way to help students succeed in her class. The lectures can get kind of boring but she makes up for it with tons of extra credit opportunities and easy tests.

Knows about every rock there ever was.Great class.For those who do not like to write papers you get to color maps with crayons.That should keep you busy.I really liked the class and learned a lot by the time it ended.Was actually sad that it did end.
