Definitely the best Chem professor I've had so far. He is really funny and made chemistry enjoyable. I looked forward to his lectures and he taught in a way that made the material understandable. He does everything on the chalkboard so while attendance isn't mandatory except on quiz days, you should go to get the notes.

I honestly think he is the best chem professor in the whole department. He is so funny and made chemistry enjoyable. He taught in a simple way that was easy for everyone to understand, and I actually looked forward to going to chem because of him.

Koplitz is amazing! He i very good at breaking it down and just like the students he is always happy about the weekend, so in that way he is very relatable. He breaks things down so much that at times you never need the textbook unless you are doing the practice problems he assigns

At the beginning of my semester, my professor had to take a leave of absence and Professor Koplitz filled in for the rest of the semester. He's by fart the best chem professor. He knows his stuff but more importantly, knows how to teach it. He's also hilarious, every lecture is entertaining. His tests aren't easy but he prepares you well for them

Best chemistry professor I have ever had and would recommend over any other teacher at Tulane. His lectures are straightforward, tests are not surprising when you go to class, and he's hilarious. He makes chemistry very approachable and he makes sure everyone understands the topic before moving on. Take him!

I definitely recommend taking Brent if given the chance. He's a great professor and explains topics very well. He gives back previous years exams to help, but don't be fooled; the tests are similar, but there will be curveballs. Ace the first test and do as best as you can on 2 and 3. The final took 4 hours but was not too hard. The curve is nice!

Comment:
Koplitz is challenging. He gives back old exams, which seem to be helpful, but then throws in questions on the exams that do not resemble anything discussed in lectures or from previous exams. While his lectures can be entertaining, the information is superficial of the material he actually tests. However, the curve will be better than you expect.

Comment:
Koplitz is great. He makes the material fairly easy to understand. However, you will still need to put in a TON of work to do well. He gives past tests that will be fairly similar to your tests, but do not expect them in any way to be the same. He always throws in some curve balls. Overall, he's very helpful and the curve is better than you think.

If you have the choice to take Koplitz for gen chem, do. Yeah, gen chem can be really hard, but better to have an awesome teacher like Brent who makes you enjoy class and motivates you to enjoy chemistry. Did not like chem before him. He's so awesome. Take him.

Brent's lectures were very clear and will answer any questions you have about the material. His tests are very similar to old tests, which he hands out before the actual test. If you're able to do those, you'll be fine.

The labs take a long time to write, but if you put the time in, you'll do well since Koplitz grades so easily. Sure, the lab recitation was at an inconvenient time, but he's is so funny, attendance is painless. Lab final wasn't too bad. Bought pizza for a review session and does cool demonstrations sometimes.

Professor Koplitz is a great professor, especially if you had trouble with chemistry before. He is extremely clear, very open to questions, and helpful. Exams one and three are relatively easy, but beware of exam two for Chem1080. The final is very long, but not too hard.

PROFESSOR KOPLITZ IS THE MAN. There is no other way to put it. You barely need the book. Only the quiz questions come from the book. His lectures are from his notes. His tests basically follow the order of the lecture notes with a couple twists. He makes you learn though. If you take this class, you will learn chemistry. TAKE HIM

If given the option take him at all costs for any chem classes. He's very good at explaining anything chemistry and is the most relaxed professor in the chem department. You will leave his class with a good understanding of chemistry as well as a relatively easy A. By far one of the best teachers at tulane.

Professor Koplitz is awesome in and out of class. He knows some people arent naturally amazing at chem and tries to work with you. BE WARNED the class is still z-scored (essentially) so all the REALLY bright engineering kids who sign up first take him which can throw off the curve. Other profs may be harder to deal w but easier to get an A
