I took a class with Brett back when he taught our Expository Writing course and he was great. Expos are mandatory and part of the Harvard Curriculum and the class in itself prepares students for writing and researching and Brett was great at teaching that. Fun guy too and very in depth lectures and discussions.

I have to say that I have never enjoyed a class as much as this class. His lectures are always very intersting and is just an extremely helpful and nice guy! I would highly reccomend taking his class, it is challenging, but it is fun at the same time.

I had him as a jointly taught class with Dr. Fields a year ago and I still have great memories of the class, not only was he a great teacher but enjoyed his stories just as much, he means business though so only take him if you are ready to work, but what you take away is expanded knowledge.

his lectures r interseting, doesn't make u fall asleep. his test r a bit hard, so if you choose him, don't miss a day of class...for this course he gave us 2 midterm and one final, 2 essay on the 2 books that we had to read. the essay r easy.

His lectures are interesting, he is overall a nice person. Yet one needs to be on his terms in history gaols. I found this to be a drag, exspiecally coming from his class. You can get the impression that he is cooler than that, but he is not.
