i attended about 1.5 lectures and showed up to my fri 9am discussion still **** from the night before and still pulled an A-. and my TA was hot. all u have to do is read the online lecture slides the night before the test. the one and a half classes i attended were interesting.

I'm an engineer so SOC was BS to me. The class is not difficult, so if you study enough, you will do good. Paciotti is a good teacher, and I like how he makes jokes in class. Sometimes he starts angsting about his job and stuff but its entertaining. I didn't pay much attention to class so I don't know the term you would describe those actions with

If you go to lecture, test questions will be very clear. Dont print out his slides, its not worth it. Althought he does talk FAST!! the class is not difficult. Exam questions are taken direcly from study guides

This class was interesting and not hard if you go over the notes online. He talks ridiculously fast which provides great entertainment throughout his lecture. I enjoyed this class, but found I needed to study a lot for the midterms.

I hated this class! I worked extremely hard only to get a B-. I studied for hours on all three tests and still got C's. My major was sociology but after this class am going to change it. Brian is very passionate about his research, but this is a VERY difficult lower division course!

he puts all the slides up on the web before class, which is nice for talking notes on. he's very personable and clearly wants people to enjoy the subject. His tests are a little vague...sometimes its unclear as to what he's exactly referring to grammatically

lecture notes are online, and he just goes over them in lecture, so you don't really have to go. Lectures are very boring and he goes through them fast because he always says we can read the lecture notes ourselves. However, if you want clues for what might be on the midterms, go to lecture.

Brian is a really great teacher. He really cares about his students and if you go to lecture, there is no reason you shouldn't pass the class (with studying ofcourse). He pretty much gives you incentives for being in class (participation credit); aside from being really nice and cute.
