he was an okay professor, definitely all over the place when grading papers, sometimes you get an A when you expect an F and sometimes you get an F when you expect an A! hes an extremely harsh grader on papers but quizzes are easy and is an inspirational professor, for an honors class he can take it slow for you if needed

Not only does Dr. Reed have the best email, he is by far the best professor I've had at Mercyhurst. He is very passionate about English, but understands that you might not be. That being said, he engages you every class and makes it enjoyable to write essays and talk about the required readings. I wish I could've had him for more classes.

Dr. Reed makes English so interesting. He made me excited to come to his Jane Austen class every day and hear his takes on the novels. He also encouraged me to participate more as well with his enthusiasm, and that helped me understand the stories more. 2 tests, 2 essays, 10 quizzes, and participation are the only grades in this class.

I had him for IMU and we literally just read what was required for that class and then talked the rest of the day. He made class so interesting because i know other people hated their class. We made a song about IMU and recorded ourselves singing it. I 100% recommend him. SO nice and easy to talk to. Very approachable.

Dr. Reed is one of the best teachers I have ever had! His class was the perfect 8AM because he is so alive! You have no choice but to wake up and listen. Read the material and expect pop quizzes. Three papers total and no final Exam. WORK HARD ON THE PAPERS.

His train of thought is hard to follow in his lectures. His points didn't prompt discussion and didn't connect to materials. His lectures went nowhere and were completely useless for notes and his lengthy required paper. I asked for help, but he made no sense. If you want interesting and understandable points about the material, he's not for you.

As a teacher, he is great! Loves literature and is very helpful when it comes to papers. I did not read a single page of literature, except the ones that pertained to my paper, and got an A. As long as your papers are extremely polished you should be fine, but know Reed has high expectations.
