Comment:

He is by far the the worst teacher I have ever had. He rushes through the material and he doesn't make sure we understood the material before moving on. Also he only has 4 tests during the entire semester, and one of those is the final, so if you fail one test, passing the class is almost impossible. I wish it was possible to rate him lower.

Comment:

He is basically Santa Clause. He teaches straight from the book, and sometimes goes on tangents about random mathematicians. There are only 4 grades for the whole class: he doesn't look at or grade homework, but I suggest doing it, or else you won't have a clue what's going on. He doesn't respond to emails and is kind of awkward, but he's alright.

He's a nice guy, but he grades harshly. I ended up dropping the class through half of the semester because I knew I couldn't bring my grade back up. He bases your grade off of four exams, one of which includes the final. He doesn't have office hours to meet with him, so if you take his class be prepared to spend hours outside of class studying.

Comment:

I'm currently taking this class and am about to WD from it like multiple students have already done this semester. Waking up for an 8am with a prof who lets us out early after rushing through new notes/ having to teach myself from the book isn't worth it. I even went to tutoring and still failed the first test, but so did more than half the class.

This is by far the worst class I've ever taken not just in college but my whole education career in itself. I have never come across such a confusing teacher who assumes we know what we're doing and confuses us even more when we ask questions. The tutors agreed that they didnt understand his teaching methods and felt they taught us more than he did

It's hard to stay motivated in this class. The homework is optional - he doesn't check it or grade it. He doesn't take attendance at all. Your grade is based off of 3 tests and a final. All the exams are open book and he lets you put sticky notes in too. It's easy to get a good grade in, but truthfully you don't learn and retain much information.

He stands out as the worst math teacher I have ever had and I was a math minor. He was always late, did not help with personal problems, locked the door after he came in, told irrelevant stories, was arrogant and unconcerned with special needs, and his belly is always hanging out. I did not learn much math from him.

If you are not good at math, do not take his class. I have been completely lost since the beginning of the semester. It is a lot of work, but if you are willing then give it a try. The main problem is he is too smart. He expects his students to understand things quickly. There is a new section to learn every class.

(Basic Stats) First off, he didn't take the time to know our names and it's a pretty small class. Second, your grade in his class solely depends on a few exams then the final. Homework is not mandatory. His reviews are hardly any help at all. He never pauses to make sure everyone is understanding. If you can, avoid taking his class.

Comment:

Basic Stats with Bruce is the way to go. His teaching techniques makes it easy to comprehend the material. There are 3 tests throughout the semester before the final exam and all are open textbook!!The first test you take makes you show your work just based on the sections that you learn but the rest are multiple choice. Helps to go to class.

Complete scatter brain, avoid if you can. Never uses bridges or checks email. Also, as a commuter who could barley make it in due to the rough winter he gave zero cares. Fighting to get those absences excused now still months later. Also don't ever have a medical condition to keep you from class! He's heartless.

I had him for class last semester and I did not like the class at all. For a basic class that most students have to take I felt like it was too difficult, and the homework assignments did not prepare me for test at all. He only has three exams and one final so it is hard to recover if you failed one
