Dr. Criley is so funny, he is this crochety old man that just comes out with the most unexpected things sometimes. Developmental was one of the easiest bio courses I took at wesleyan, and I still learned a lot from it.

Criley is very guilty of choosing favorites among his students. He didn't know my name after an entire semester in his class-- and I was manning the slide projector for him in lab! Even after I became a research assistant and TA in the bio dept. he had no clue who I was. If you go to Costa Rica he'll love you, otherwise forget it.

There is a reason why there has been so many rating of Criley. Yes he is a big teddy bear, you just need to get through a few layers. Not consistant with grading. His advice for tests is know everything and believe me, he'll ask questions on everything. Make sure to study with a group.

Extremely unintentionally funny, but constantly veers off topic. Don't take his class if you scare easily because he will make you think the world is coming to an end every single day with some form of Avian Flu or Chemical Weapons Explosion from Nuclear Landfills.

Dr. Criley is the man. One of the most skilled and valuable professors at this school. Developmental is an excellent course and I highly recommend it. He gives a lot of info, but he helps you learn it. I thought gen bio was boring, but dev was great. Take this course.

Dr. Criley had no idea who I was and would not respond to emails/questions that I had during several of his classes. He has an obvious knowledge of embryology and developmental biology, but is very selective of who gets his attention. Easy grader though.
