I'm so pleased! Easy A! You have the option of a take home test or in class! I always took the take home test! All you have to do is ask "WHY??". You'll pass You won't regret it! Class is optional!

Comment:

Prof. Farcau gives three exams and one term paper. Each exam has a take-home option. Write thoroughly and knowledge-dump all material you heard in class. I didn't go to class at all and pulled off a B, but an A would have been nearly guaranteed if I showed up regularly. He is a very interesting professor with an interesting course. Take him!

So Bruce Farcau is an amazing and interesting individual. The way I saw the class, you could choose to read, or come to lectures, and you would get all the info save some during the Nixon era near the end. You always have the option for a take home exam, so its an easy pass, and you'll actually learn a lot from doing these exam essays. Amazing prof

Comment:

I enjoyed taking this class with Dr. Farcau, he's very knowledgeable on the subjects he talks about. However, the class is determined by three tests and one term paper, each worth 25% of your grade. You can choose between take-home tests or taking it in class. Pay attention to the lectures, I would even suggest recording them, no powerpoints.

Farcau is an amazing professor. He was hilarious and clearly explained the topics so it was easy to understand. He gave out 3 tests and one big paper, but he grades everything so easy. There's take home options for every test and he even offers extra credit. Attendance isn't mandatory but I usually went because he's so funny.

Dr. Farcau lectures all class, it's impressive that he can talk about 500+ years of diplomatic history without any references, but also quite dry. If you skip class, at least read the book. I recommend the take home exams, make sure you understand the concepts so you can analyze in your essays, don't just spit out a re-telling of history. Easy A

Basically there are only 3 tests and one research paper, the 3 tests can either be take home essays or in class multiple choice tests, this may sound easy but he grades the take home essays very hard and gives close to no feedback why. Also does not use web courses at all so you have to use the syllabus to remember when stuff is due.

You have the option of an in-class test and a take home. I did the in-class test 1 and the rest take home including the final. He can be tough with the take home because he wants to see an analysis. Use examples in your writing. Do the extra credit and get started on the term paper asap. Trust me, you don't want to wait. He has his opinions.

3 tests and a 8 page term paper, the test can be taken home but he is VERY specific in what he wants in those take home tests but you must figure that out on your own, he does not tell you (they are written responses). You didn't really need the textbook or to attend class, if you put the effort in to the class then you will get an A.

Class is graded on 3 tests and an 8 page paper. Class can seem boring and sometimes he sidetracks. Attendance isn't necessary and can pass without going to class. Basic government class and it's pretty easy.

Farcaus class is great. He is knowledgeable about the subject and teaches from memory. The class starts every day by him asking if we have seen anything interesting in the news and we discuss that for about 15 minuets. Lectures are usually interesting and include humor. You can expect to get out 10-15 minuets early daily which is always a bonus.

Overall Farcau is a great teacher with a lot of in depth knowledge!!!! This class was great! Pure lecture no distributed material. MUST take notes! Thankfully I took this class and a student took notes via google docs and shared them with the class. There is a couple of papers and a option of a in class exam or a take home exam.

Take him. He looks out for you in the end. Lecture was a bit boring for an upper-level course. Test are optional of take-home or in-class 3-4 of them, and an 8pg paper. Overall okay, a cool to listen to.

He is very funny, his humor is dry, but funny nonetheless. Attendance is not mandatory but because all the test material comes from the lectures if you miss class just be sure to get them from a peer. When taking exams the trick is to use both the lecture and your knowledge to display understanding, he is asking for your opinion, not the material.

4 TEST (last one considered your final). Although his lectures are entertaining, attendance is not mandatory. I suggest going to class the day before the exam because he flips through the book and literally tells you what you need to study. Therefore, in my opinion, it's mandatory to have the book. Easy A if you try! THERE'S ALSO A TAKE HOME TESTS!

Doesn't really use any other resources besides his in-class lectures and would often go off-topic in his lectures and I felt like I didn't learn anything. The internet will be your best friend, since half the stuff in exams wouldn't even be mentioned in his lectures. Extremely tough grader when it came to papers and wouldn't give feedback.

3 tests (either inclass or take home) and a term paper. Prof Farcau wants a lot of analysis on the test and papers, and youll get an A if you provide it. Diplomacy wasnt that interesting to me but the prof made it interesting imo. Hes a cool and funny teacher and is always available to talk to before and after class + office hours.

Russian politics is a cool course. Prof Farcau relies heavily on lecture. He just sits down and talks for 50 mins. 3 test (option of either in class or take home) and an 8 page term paper is what the course consist of. You must good at analysis to get good grades in this course so be aware. Overall, solid course and cool teacher.
