I have taken two classes with Bruce, BIOE141L and Ecology. He is a brilliant guy who knows his material, has a great sense of humor, and is very approachable. His courses are not easy, but he is always available for help outside of class. I seriously recommend taking a class that Bruce is teaching, especially BIOE141L.

Bruce is passionate about the subject and the majority of the pictures relating to the material are his own! His notes can be all over the map but if you don't get anything he is SO easy to approach. The TAs were useless and you have to do a paper reading for each section. The tests are all written but definitely fair. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM!

Prof Lyon is great ! He is so enthusiastic about the subject. The lectures are straight forward and the tests are totally fair. If you work hard you will get an A. Best class I have had yet.

Most fun I've had at school in years; if only every professor was able to elicit this degree of class participation!? Bruce has a particular knack for demystifying the math behind population models. Top notch course.

He was awesome! His lectures were very interesting and fun. It was awesome when he used his own field work as examples.He was really funny! He presented the material in a very clear way (even though his notes were a bit disorganized)you don't really need the book. The tests are fair and somewhat easy. In general, one of the best classes I ever took

Professor Lyon was funny and cheerful. He made the class interesting and fun. He uses his own photography, which is absolutely amazing. I learned a lot from this class. Never a dull moment. Midterm and final are long and all written, so prepare. It's not hard though, he has past exams for you to study. Make sure to study them well!

SUCH a fun prof!!! It was an awesomely entertaining class where I learned a lot. The workload isn't too much and lectures are really fun to go to. The online midterm/final practice exams are really helpful. I really loved it and whatever class he's teaching it's sure to be great.

Very Entertaining! He has food for those who answer his questions. Totally funny, most of the time. There's 1 MT, 1 Paper (2-3 pages doubled space)& 1 final. Disc are manatory ( read journ art) Study old exams & study questions from reader; don't buy the book. Attendence to lec is not req but recommended since he writes on board. No online notes.

Take a field class with Bruce! He's funny and smart and amiable and enthusiastic. 145L is a lot of work, but by the end you've been sort of intitiated into the world of field biology.

Bruce was quite an entertaining teacher and really knew what he was talking about. Going over previous exmas helped immensely!! Make sure to stay on top of the study questions because exam questions come STRAIGHT from them. Unfortunately, 2 exams are 75% of the grade and the TAs look for details.
