Comment:

The concept of a seminar kinda sucks, and Pauley doesn't exactly make it any easier. Exetremely high expectations of students, disorganized, and very rude during student presentations. Probably alright for a regular euro history class, but I'd avoid him in a seminar style class.

I found the tests and quizs to be some what easy, but when it comes to papers goodluck he can be very tough. Hardest History class I have taken though at UCF. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing guess depends on the person.

Not the most responsible professor you will ever have. Pauley is pretty arrogant and unhelpful. Doesn't adequately explain class expectations and grading policies. Does know a lot of history and is a pretty good speaker. At times is funny.

Easily one of the best history professors at UCF. He loves to teach, and he knows his stuff. He also loves to provide commentary about current events which can be really funny. He can be a semi-tough grader sometimes though.

I think Dr. Pauley is one of the best professors in the UCF history dept. People complain about him being difficult, but he gives VERY detailed instructions-JUST FOLLOW THEM, you'll be fine. It's a good idea to do the readings. Adds points for attendence.

Brilliant, renowed useful, knowledgeable and very, very boring. Pauley's a great prof if you're genuinely dedicated to studying history, but could be a nightmare if your attention or interest is elsewhere. "C" students need not apply.

I recd my MA in history in 1998. Dr. Pauley was my thesis director. I loved him. He is a brilliant man who was always very nice and helpful to me. I miss his classes!

Ton of knowledge, but no education background. Taking notes is like a track meet to get everything he says. Tests are vague and often MC questions will have 2 or more correct answers. I passed, not sure how! Sit in the front, look interested. Good luck

People complain about his book and lectures, but that's because they don't fully appreciate his vast expertise in his field. I used to sneak into his classes I wasn't registered in just to hear him lecture. If you don't want to learn stay away.
