Smith was the first professor I took in the political science department and he is incredible. People skipped class because they his lectures were boring. However, his lectures were always engaging and intriguing. He is an amazing man, I want to ask him about his past. I did not talk but went to class everyday and got an A. He knows when you care.

Really great professor. He really knows his stuff and I respect him a lot. Participation in class is very important so show up and try to make sure to speak at least once every other class or something like that. Doing the readings is recommended, if only to prevent awkward silences when the class doesn't answer his questions. Hottest professor

Ok so he's a communist and I'm conservative-I didn't think things would work out but it turns out that he's a great guy. He doesn't hold student's personal views against them however he will draw on them occasionally to sharpen a point he's trying to make.

Wonderful, instrinsic professor whose lectures not only inspire you on political theory but also on life itself. He is a wonderful man that is full of knowledge. Class centered around Q&A with discussion intermixed, which provided an array of opinions.

Bruce Smith is amazing. Let me say that again, Bruce Smith is AMAZING. He opens you up to new ideas and new ways of thinking that are applicable not just to political science but to life in general. He's brilliant. I wish every class I took was taught by him. Seriously, if you haven'taken a class with him take one just for the experience!

Professor Smith is one of the most intelligent people that I know. He's a tough grader, but definitely worth taking. Some tips: make it a goal to talk at least one time in class. also, make sure that your writing is very concise and organized. go to his office hours for help on papers...he's willing to look at work before it's turned in.

I LOVED this class with him. It's mostly discussion with a few "lecture" days. There's A TON of reading, though, and it can be pretty boring sometimes, depending on your interest level. I have next to no interest in poli sci but he was engaging and interesting. He's really funny. Allows you to have your own opinions so long as you analyze them.

Brucie is definitely unique! i think the problem with him is that he is not pompous, he just really is too smart for his own good. i think it impairs the way he communicates with people in general. his classes arent bad (ive had him 3Xs) and hes understanding about late work. he can just get hard to follow but thats symptomatic of his intelligence

Egotistical and rather rude and obnoxious. He definately has his favorites and is not a big fan of opinions that aren't his. Average teaching skills at best, but my biggest problem with him was that he just had an attitude, really was full of himself.

Over-rated. Did not really enjoy the class, although I always showed up. Class discussions were interesting at times, but usually broke off into pointless sub-discussions that almost always had nothing to do with the assigned reading. Also, kept class on average 4-6 minutes late EVERYDAY.
