Great professor...one of my favoites. He may be old, but he represents a unique style of teaching history that has been lost to dreaded powerpoint presentations. Very nice man if you talk to him, fair with his tests

I went to class every day, I read every text he assigned and I pulled all nighters for his tests. This guy is so picky on detail for his tests, it was impossible to do well. Though he knows a great deal on the subject, his lectures are extremely dry.

Very devious person. Tries to undermine students that disagree with his opinions. If you care about your education and future then I suggest you avoid this clown.

Dr. Steiner's notes were yellowed with age, there was no textbook for the class, just readings from the W&M Journals. I was very disappointed in this class and feel that I wasted an entire quarter.

Shouldn't you have to read the texts if you want to pass a college course?I love these people who enroll in a four year academic university and don't think they should have to read anything.Good course,Dr. Steiner has an uncanny feel for the colonial

This class is tedious. Two solid hours of tedium. I drew the most elaborate decorations in the margins on my notebooks. You have to go though and read the texts if you want to pass. Very nice man, yet very off putting as well.

He covers the material really well, but that's because he lived through it!!! If you can stay awake through reading the book, stay home, but the book is almost just as dry, it's all bad, just get through it with your sanity.

Dr. Steiner is a very nice man, however his lectures do not follow any of the reading. He does not talk about the reading at all and yet he tests you on the reading and his lectures. There is no textbook and there is no prep for the tests.

Most boring class ever. Two hours of torture. His tests have the matching section from hell on them. Make a friend in the class so you can get the notes when you fall asleep, actually make a few friends in case your first friend falls asleep too.

We NEED more professors like Dr. Steiner teaching history from the conservative perspective in this overly LIBERAL profession.

An interesting class. Follows the text in his lectures for the most part. Some of the outside readings are only covered on the tests (many times only one question), reserve readings are extremely long. Lectures can be dry, read text to clarify lectures

It's time for Prof. Steiner to retire and stop teaching. He laughs at questions and then insults the asker.
