The best professor I have ever had! His hands on experience is unmatched and he is hilarious! Once you learn what he wants in a paper it's not hard to get an A!

Bruce is a great teacher very knowledgeable. He requires a lot of written papers. I really learned a lot of useful info in his class. I would definitely take him again. Although, he is not clear on his assignments he is always available and willing to help. He is great professor. NOT an easy A at all, you will have to work for your grade!!!!

This class really pushed me to do more than regurgitate info - made me a better planner. You MUST push him for clarity on assignments but he's a great teacher

picks favorites! very unclear and hard to understand. if he does not like you dont bother. its like hes only teaching the people in the class that he likes. which is horrible.

You need a crystal ball for his class. His is not clear on what he wants or is looking for. He picks his favorite students at the beginning and the rest are just there.

Bruce's passion for sustainable urban planning translates into a great learning experience for his students. One might not agree with his liberal opinions, and his reluctance to hand out A’s, but he is an excellent teacher. On the slide shows - I’m one who learns visually, so I found them to be useful illustrations of urban planning concepts.

Bruce is a quality assett to Rollins College. His John Nolen like principles for planning are highly effective and are emulated in all the classes he teaches. The Oregon Field Study trip is the absolute full circle of the program Bruce teaches. Highly Recommended!!!!Nature in the City is a great first class to see if you like the program.

Bruce will teach you more than almost any other ENV prof. His expecations are reasonable and challenging but you need to ask him to clarify. All my classes have been enjoyable..even the treaded ENV planning

A great asset to the ES department. He's calm, helpful, funny, and really knows his stuff. A little scatter-brained, but that makes him all the more likeable. He does use the same set of slides for EVERY presentation he makes... but you'll only have to sit through a couple of slide shows a semester and they only last about 15 minutes anyway.

if he likes you and you appear to sympathize with his liberal ideas, you'll get a decent grade. very repetitive, can get slightly annoying. slide shows with very little purpose. make sure to ask him numerous times for explanations about papers, cause it varies every time--plus he'll probably hint at what he wants to hear.

A bit dry, the jokes help. Tends to be unclear about what he is looking for leaving you to guess. He'll teach you a lot of valuable stuff...but critical thinking isn't one of them. Bring coffee for the slide shows.

lots and lots of lecture and slides. very few actual assignments, but just try to get him to specify prompts and requirements. relatively easy class, but potentially very boring. very friendly, talkative, comic, but easily annoying.

Took a few courses with him. Very knowledgeable but needs to focus not only on those topics that interest him. He needs to be more "worldly" and learn that students come from all nations (even those decimating the Amazon basin).
