Greatest professor ever. The real test of his classes are in the life you live. It was an honor to meet this man and I still reference my experiences with him ten years later. Whenever I meet up with my old classmates who knew him, the conversation always turns to Wilshire. He has influenced so many. I love you Bruce.

Wilshire is the best professor I've had in my college career (and I'm in grad school now and only minored in philosophy). He sees the world from unique perspectives and has a quirky sense of humor. He changed the way I see the "everyday" world.

Listen and you can pass. Guy has some weird but very interesting things to say. 19th Century Philosophy was great. You can learn a lot about life if you listen...

I enjoyed his classes. He likes arguments, always wore a cowboy hat, always did weird stuff and made weird noises. Just don't fall asleep cause he will majorly embarass you. Cool guy.

Had for American Philosophy. Takes attendance yet he talks about absolutely nothing all class. Some people love his B.S. and are obsessed with him. Hates kids, technology (no email or syllabus), pretty much hates anything that isn't ancient. Talks about sex a lot in a gross way. On exams/papers write down what he says word for word and get an A!!!

DIRTY ****! Not a single class passed without mention of sex urges or erogenous zones or women looking alike with bags over heads. **** & ****. Class consists of listening to HIS VIEWS on life. If you donĂ¢€™t KISS HIS ASS he'll ridicule you for having an opinion. Got an A but the discomfort of hearing about his sex life was NOT worth it!

Dirty ****. Constantly talks about his publishings, those of this friends, his views on sex, church, drugs, spring break, and then expects you to write a paper on "What you learned in this course." I got a B, but I still think that he is disgusting, self involved, and loves to hear his own voice.

DON'T DO IT!!! Unless you want to sit through 3 hours a week of listening to crap. His lectures consist of his views on life, personal anecdotes, stupid jokes, and therapy sessions-ex. the lecture was on "whether there is magic in our lives" and the comment "i think there is a ghost in my house, or maybe i'm just messy" spurned serious discussion

This man is an egotistical pseudo-philosopher. His lectures have nothing to do with philosophy... he just asks us the same question every class, even though it was answered several classes ago. Don't take him unless you want to be forced into listening to washed-up, behind-the-times drivel spouted by a man who enjoys only the sound of his own voice

Awesome Professor. Philosophy is not easy...so unless you put the time into the class, you're not going to like it at all. However, if you do and you speak with Wilshire, either in class or after, you'll see he's an amazing man with, at times, abstract and skewed ideas, but other times, with utterly amazing and inspirational ones.

Worst. Professor. Ever. Didn't know the material, played favorites. If you want to leave the class understanding why people think existentialism and phenomenology is crap philosophy, take this class. The reading was a joke. Got a "D" from him and I was proud of it. Anything else would have cost me my self respect.

The Horror! The Horror! This class was insanely painful. ALl he wants to do is talk about himself and you learn NOTHING! I'm not sure why I showed up at all; except that if you didn't show up consistantly he'd pick on you mercilessly. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
