Comment:
Your grade is solely based on 4 tests and the final and his lectures are very difficult to follow. He didn't really seem to care much about the students honestly. Rather than trying to help us understand the material, he blames us for "not studying enough". Don't take his class.

Professor Hernandez is a great professor. The class itself is difficult. The only grades are test grades, but he replaces your lowest score with what you score on the final, that was great. Its vital that you do as many practice problems in the book as you can, thats how to pass chem. You have to practice. Good professor though, nice and helpful.

He is very inconsiderate of students. Very rude and over the top. Lectures are lackluster at best. His grading criteria is lenient but because he sets you up to fail from the beginning. His exam wording is extremely different from practice questions he says we should go over and we should be fine for the test. Awful!

Comment:
Professor Hernandez was not the professor best professor. This class is basically all self taught and going to lectures doesn't help usually. Recommend if you take him to attend SI sessions and do problems from the book. He will not be teaching instead he will be reading off of power point slides. Only grades are 5 tests. Good luck you'll need it.

He is very unapproachable. If you have no background of chemistry already, this professor is not for you. He moves very fast and does not explain the material well. Not to mention your entire grade is based off of 4 exams and a final.

Sends out reviews to do, nothing like test, sends out practice problems from the book, nothing like the test. Might as well not have sent us anything. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Worst experience of my life. Cannot describe how I felt leaving that class after every exam day. Struggled the entire year and no extra credit was offered. Based off of 5 test

Mr Florencio was not there when I needed him. Claimed the heart of chemistry was love, but taught only loneliness and depression.

he is a fairly good teacher. The only thing is that he teaches as if you already know the subject, so definitely read before class. I hate the fact that your total grade is based off of only 5 tests!! don't take him if you're a bad test taker. He's nice but expects you to already know the concepts. his tests are very confusing

He's the worst professor at UCF. He doesn't assign any homework or classwork to help boost up your grade. He only assigned 4 exams and a final. His tests are tricky and confusing and the optional practice problems he assigns have little to do with what was on the test, especially test 4 which more than half the class failed. DON'T TAKE HIM!

Your first two test shouldnt be too bad, theyre easy As but after that the test takes a turn for the worst and progressively gets harder. The fourth one is probably the worst. He goes to fast with slides in class so youre forced to use your phone to follow. Each test is basically 2-3 test worth of material crammed into one. Dont Take Class!!!

This class grade is only based on test grades. There is no extra credit or any other assignments. I went to every lecture, studied all the material he recommended, and took detailed notes but still couldnt get good grades on the tests. He tells you what problems to study and does review but then the test looks completely different.

The only grades in his class are 5 tests, with the final replacing the lowest grade of the other 4 tests. Hes a nice guy and all, but hell put things on his tests that he didnt tell you to study. His lectures are just him reading off of slides he posts online, so you get no use out of waking up to go to them. He tests patience, not knowledge.

Worst professor I have taken. Does not know how to teach and makes tests way harder than the practice problems he provides. The only grades for the whole semester are four lecture exams and the final exam.

I didn't like the class because the only grades you get are the four tests. But, his powerpoints are very clear about what will be on the tests. Study his examples and book problems he assigns and you'll be golden. I suck at chem and did good. He said final would be cumulative but heavy on one chapter, ended up all being that chapter. Didn't lie

took Chem1B in summer B. Professor Hernandez did a great job explaining the material. The class is lecture heavy and you may have to read the textbook for better understanding. Study a lot of the practice problems and It'll be fine.

Rude and unapproachable. Difficult to understand and teaches as if he is talking to a colleague that already understands everything. Lied to his entire class about what would be on the final and when I approached him about it he said that he did it on purpose. Lost my bright futures because of him and I have never gotten below a C in my life.

He does not bother to simplify anything, I had to rely on SI sessions to learn the material. He's also very rude to students over small issues. He told the entire class our final would be one thing and gave us something completely different.
