Comment:
He is a very lax professor, reading is minimal, and isn't strict at all about essay deadlines. However, he isn't the best with giving feedback... and gave everyone the same grade on the papers as long as they did it, which can be frustrating for students like myself who tend to put in more effort. Overall though, I would recommend!

I had Dr. Bibb for Intro to the Old Testament. He is by far the best professor I've had at Furman. His lectures are hilarious yet thought provoking and relevant. I have learned so much about religion and how to think in general in his class. He is a very fair grader and his tests/assignments are straight forward. There is a lot of reading though.

The class itself was easy and I put little work outside of class in. It was a little stressful at the end of the year because it was unorganized and I wasn't exactly what grade I'd have. However, Dr. Bibb is great and the class is easy, but not the most structured.

Dr. Bibb is BY FAR the best professor I've ever had. He's extremely clear on what he wants, but he hates giving bad grades as much as you hate giving them so he grades easily. Even if you get a bad grade on a test, he allows you to make revisions to bump up your grade. If you get the chance, TAKE HIS CLASS!

Goes off topic for most of class and is unhelpful when you ask for more feedback on papers. Would not recommend.

Dr. Bibb is awesome. Very dry sense of humor, but is very clear and answers every question with grace and ease. To be honest, I slept through part of the class and didn't read any of the books and still pulled an A- in the class by writing the two papers required and doing a half assed journal entry.

Dr. Bibb is a wonderful professor. He loves what he is teaching and makes the material very interesting. The class is a lot of reading, but it really is interesting material to read. If you want to learn more about Christianity and the Bible take one of his classes! One of my favorite professors at Furman.

I took Professor bibb's May-X class "Modern battles over the Bible". to be blunt, this class was unreasonably difficult in terms of the workload. we had to read anywhere from 70-110 pages every night. quizzes are only about 6-8 questions covering all of these pages. stay away from this professor by all means possible. so much work.

Bibb has absolutely no idea what he is doing or talking about. He thinks that he is smart, but nobody likes him. It is funny how he think people enjoy being in his class.

Bibb has no structure to classes. Rambles on and you never know what info is actually useful. All the assignments were based completely on your own research. If attendance wasn't mandatory I could have gotten the same grade without going to class. He also takes months to return graded work.

Dr.Bibb is an interesting professor. He is very passionate and involved in his class. His lectures are informative and lively. There are only two tests and they are take home. The only problem is that he does not give a lot of feedback with grades or the two papers you submit.

This man is a jerk. If you're not that typical "perfect" Furman student, you can kiss his respect goodbye. Lay low if you think you won't live up to his standards, cause he'll break you down easily, and enjoy it.

Dr. Bibb is an amazing professor who genuinely cares about the students in his class, provides help whenever asked, and teaches with such infectious excitement. The class was relatively easy, although the readings were a bit long. The essays and tests aren't exactly effortless, but be sure to pay close attention to the lectures.
