Bryan is a fun prof and passionate about his subject, but pretty old fashioned. Classes were mostly just watching stage plays or listening to radio dramas, there were little to no notes relevant to assignments, yet participation grades were still given. Easy A but almost frustratingly dull.

Might seem standoffish at first, but you'll find that he's a nice guy if you talk to him outside of class. A lot of the lectures may feel rather unnecessary as you'll spend a lot of time listening to your classmates read from plays, which you can read on your own time. Avoid buying books if you can as all you get marked on are your compositions.

Best teacher I have ever had! Couldn't have asked for a better prof. Bryan runs the show. I leared a lot from him and i became very interested in creative writing thanks to him would do the course all over again if i could! He's a super cool guy and has lots of wisdom

Bryan is a really nice guy, but I think his class structure could use some improvement. We just workshopped plays, and I felt like he didn't really pass on much of his wisdom. Also, a caution for students who will take 417 - not everyone is picked for Brave New Playwrites, and its super awkward for those who aren't. I feel so bad for them!

Bryan's very nice person. I don't understand all these negative comments. Must be sour grapes from students who didn't get their play picked to be produced. I learned a lot. You just have to listen. Yeah Brave New Play Rites! What an experience. Thx.

Not a great prof. I don't think I learned a single thing the entire time. All it did was force me to finish plays that I would otherwise be too lazy to write. If you're just looking to hand in plays and get the critiqued, take the class. If you're looking to learn something, you're in the wrong place. Has the infuriating habit of saying RIGHT? alot

Bryan is a very good writer and he often gives very good comments but his marking is very odd -- imprecise and also he is unable to give an account of how he does mark. Considering how hard we worked to get into creative writing and how much effort we put into writing, the marks seem not to reflect that. They also don't reflect class parcipation.
