One of the best instructors I've ever had. His students know: come to class ON TIME, be respectful and do the work. He's on your side if you haul your own weight and act like an adult. Read, take notes, pay attention. Easy. Finally, a history class that wasn't a bore and a headache. I wish he wasn't leaving, but am lucky to have had him.

Good teacher. He makes the lecture very interesting. You gotta go to class though. And he does keep you the entire time, but it goes by quick. I took him for an elective that I thought i would hate and i loved it!!

I agree that Dr. Shaw is very strict. He told us to set our watches by his time...not by Troy U's. He locked the door, and didn't allow anyone to come in late at all. He is a great professor, and I had no trouble getting an A in his class. If you pay attention you should do well. I didn't even read the text. His tests have alot of essay questions.

Very good teacher. He's strict but he keeps you interested and he knows what he's talking about. I've never been able to stay awake in History classes but in his I can because he does such a good job teaching.

Dr. Shaw is the best professor I have had at Troy State. He actually taught something. And he CAN teach; VERY WELL...IF you want to learn something other than sorority/fraternity heritage.
