I loved Professor Lockhart. As long as you actually grasp the concepts he is teaching you will do fine. The tests are hard but not impossible. If you study you will do great! Also, ask a lot of questions, he will always always answer. He tries to be as helpful as possible and he was! He is an excellent professor.

Comment:

He is one of the best teachers I had at TCU- I thought that in 1997 and I still do today. He expects a lot but that's part of what makes him great. Definitely go to class and take care with your writing 101.

Lockhart is the nicest man. He has a brilliant mind and sometimes I think students struggle to grasp what he is saying...but that is never a problem when you have done your readings and legitimately think about the concepts presented.

Comment:

When you think political theory, you think debates, arguments and enlightenment. In Dr. Lockhart's class, it's cussing, arguments and liberal propaganda. I got a terrible grade on an exam and went into his office hours for explanation. I didn't get one. We argued about it for an hour, but nothing changed. Avoid unless you're a die hard liberal.

Worst teacher I have had at TCU. I make A's in every political science and business class and this man is rediculous. He is terribly confusing and unclear. If you go in for office hours he does not help at all. I usually like teachers that everyone hates so when I was warned about him by other students I didn't take it seriously. DON'T TAKE THIS!

Very liberal. Swears a ton. Can hardly hear him. Won't debate opposing views, he'll just attack them. He'll kick out students that dare argue against him or debate against him. Confusing method of grading exams.

This is one of the worst professors I have ever had during my tenure as a student at TCU. If you are contemplating this professor..dont do it. He is extremly biased, rude, and arrogant, and does not teach the class but simply rambles on with nonsense. Office hours are useless you will leave more confused.Dont under any circumstances take him!!

Are these reviews serious??? People loved this class?? I absolutely without a doubt hated this class. The professor is a big jerk who swears up a storm and grades so subjectively it almost is like he grades essays by the flip of a coin. There are much better classes than this one, trust me.

I really enjoyed this class. It was extremely difficult, but I really feel like I learned a lot and it was worth it. Tests are pretty straight-forward, just make sure you go to class. Papers are a little tough, just make sure you keep them simple and straight forward. Don't try to BS your way through them.

Maybe he's changed, but I felt like this was an interesting, thought-provoking, well-organized class. He's willing to answer questions, and he may be hard to hear, sit close and listen, and you will learn a lot. Perhaps not recommended if polisci is boring to you, but I felt like I learned a lot. He lets you move tests if you're not ready.TAKE it!
