I had byron for cdes 102 and now i'm taking his 206 intro to photography class. He is by far my favorite professor at chico state. very passionate, funny, cares about his students, and loves what he teaches. you learn a lot and it never seems pointless or irrelevant to the class or my life. I try to take classes from him if at all possible.

Byron Wolfe is without a doubt one of the best professors at Chico State, and probably my favorite in the Communication Design department. He is passionate about the subject (photography, knowledgeable, helpful, fair, and fun! Example: When Steve Jobs died, the class built a "memorial lounge" out of iMac boxes.

I don't know what the person below me is talking about. I was in the same class. The lectures can be long and drawn out sometimes to fill the 7:00-9:30 time block, but rarely did we go the full time. If you are interested in any kind of design this is the class for you. I'm looking at design perspectives and the world of design in a new way.

Was a co-teacher to Rellaford, and the two of them did nothing except talk about themselves, their personal accomplishes, their work they have done. If you have the 3 hour lecture once a week, bring your laptop or some form of entertainment! Also, the final was based on two books, both of which they never enforced reading. Easy, but boring!

freaking genius. Byron isn't just a teacher, he is highly educated and wonderfully well rounded. He showed us some of his own work in a photo lecture and it was eye opening. lectures can get a bit dull, so grab a cup of coffee before the lecture abd BRAVO!

Probably my favorite professor I've had in college. He's one of those teachers who opens the students eyes to alot of different things, visually, and he has a lot of real-life examples to draw from.

Class once a week. Byron was a little unprepared at times, but extremely nice. His lecture slides were thrown together moments before class, watched a few interesting documentaries, and students collaborated to help create quizzes and tests, which make them pretty easy. Also, make sure to spend time on the assignments. Pretty fun class.

Pretty straight forward professor, no real busy work. The photo projects are soemtimes difficult but he always gives you enough time to complete them. The tests are hard but if you go over all your notes and do the readings you will do well.

i hated this class. The lectures are super boring and long, 2 hours, and usually had nothing to do with making you a better or more educated photographer. The only useful thing in this class is lessons in photoshop. Photo assignments are a joke, complete bs themes. labs are really boring too, critiques take friggin forever!
