while he is a smart guy and is able to keep up with his students in a heartbeat through email, i still managed to struggle. at one moment he would be talking and in the next he'd already finish 40 lines of code unexplained. assignments were also about as unclear as his volume and accent in class. good luck finding your way to the front of the class

Dr. Drozdek is, perhaps, one of the best Professors I have ever had. He was extremely attentive to my emails. Specifically, he is very willing to help out with homework and programs -- all you have to do is ask. Additionally, he is a fair grader -- if you truly understand the material, you should get at least a B+ in his class.

Comment:

So I loved this course. I also worked pretty hard- some of the assignments took me 10-15 hours. It's a graduate course, so it's meant to challenge you a bit, but be ready to work. Drozdek is glad to answer questions in class. I was into the content, and really enjoyed his lectures, particularly when we were coding in class.

I've had him for 3 classes now and for me I found that I had to go to his office and email him a lot to fully understand what he wanted me to do for the home works and programs. His program assignments are very unclear at first, it took me 2 semesters to get used to them. If you go to his office though he will help you out.

Dr. Drozdek is a really good guy. He is not the best lecturer in the department, but if you have trouble and go to his office he is extremely helpful. Don't bother emailing him, he is not clear through email. In class, make sure you ask questions to understand the material. If you don't ask questions, he won't clarify anything.

If you don't have prior knowledge of calculus DO NOT TAKE HIM! He was absolutely no help to students who struggled with the material. The tests are awful. Your only hope is to do the homework. Good luck.

Be prepared to fail, as he is unhelpful, and does not care to teach anything to you that you need for the programs. As what you learn in class is not code, you teach yourself code and then write programs that don't make sense. He is terrible and does care for his students. Also He does not allow you to copy his notes at all. He's just terrible.

Mr.Drozdek is a teacher I had to get used to. I thought I was going to drop the class the first week, but I stayed and learned a fair amount of informationg from him. Sit in the front row though because he is a soft speaker. (Basic Programming) He has a lot of useful knowledge as well.

I went into this class knowing nothing about Visual Basic, needless to say I left knowing nothing. I received one of my only B's at Duquesne in this class. Drozdek is very hard to follow. Although, he is willing to work on projects with you outside of class - he has an attitude when doing it.

Amazing professor. This guy really knows his stuff. (Has Ph.D. in philosophy, though) Literally wrote the textbook on the subject. Very clear and articulate. The class is very difficult, but A-Droz will sit with you for however long it takes for you to understand. A+

University Life is about diversity. It's cool that Duq is able to have teachers from different countries. Communication may not be clear at first, but once the focus is off the accent and more on the course, he's a good teacher, very caring teacher.
