Professor Franco is an excellent instructor. There is a lot of homework, but he covers all material thoroughly in class. His class is a balance of speaking, writing, reading and listening to Spanish. He is patient and truly shows an interest in seeing his students succeed. I highly recommend this teacher!

I took this class during the summer and work full time. Yes it is a lot of homework,tons and tons, but I passed with an A. I am bilingual tho. I would recommend it though. I learned how to read and write it better. Be ready to answer questions outloud and partner up. He also made the class fun and would make it go by faster.

Lots of homework, and if you're new to Spanish you'll be doing a lot of catching up outside of class. He follows the book closely and makes it clear what will be on the test so if you study you'll be fine. Be ready for partner work.

Mr. Franco is a good teacher and really wants his students to learn. He's just a tough grader , assigns a lot of homework , and is big on having you speak in front of the class every day . Would not recommend taking this class with other difficult classes. If you're a new learner, you will be doing LOTS of studying.

Mr. Franco is an excellent teacher. We go over everything in class and we all participate together as a whole. There is plenty of homework to do. But you have enough time to do it all. You use your book and online code for every assignment given. His tests are not tricky at all if you do your homework you will pass his tests guaranteed.

El Profe Franco does his job really well, he is very helpful and he cares for ALL of his students, even the new learners. He will do his best to help his students to succeed. If you work hard, it will pay off. I highly recommend him.

I was really nervous coming into this class, hearing how hard he was. There is A LOT of homework. However if you are on top of things it isn't a difficult class, just time consuming. I did all the homework, attended every class and did average in the test and passed. He is a very helpful professor and will reply fast through email.

Hate to be mean, but this guy must have no social life. Assigns every single assignment in the book, and grades harshly on everything. I had 2 years of Spanish in HS,& 1 here, and I don't think I had that much work combined! Its a 5unit class; he acts like it's 10. However, hes a nice guy and class is interesting, just wayyyyy too much homework.

The instructor was not helpful. I aced most of the tests bu struggled with comlpeting the homework. He was not understanding and seems to teach only for money not for students. If you work good luck cuz he assigns at least 100 assignments per chapter from lab book, workbook, online, and textbook. Really bad instructor.

I knew bits and pieces of Spanish before taking his class, and I definitely learned a lot. He gives a lot of homework, but he goes over it thoroughly and if you pay attention in class, tests are a piece of cake--the lowest grade I got on one all semester was a 93%.

Class was easy, as a spanish speaker. Although it was easy it was a lot of work, took it in the summer. He helped people who needed help and people who he saw were struggling he asked them and told them to talk to him about what they didnt understand. Overall really helpful, but attendance and getting to class on time is very important to him.

He is a good teacher. He gives out homework before we even go over the lesson; I think he does this so that if we have any questions we can ask or perhaps when we go over it, it will make more sense. Some students didn't like having to do the work before the lesson was taught. He is easy going. Have to buy both books,workbook & code for website.

While learning another language is always difficult, Professor Franco makes it clear and is extremely helpful. Having already taken Spanish with a previous professor I was left thinking that I was stupid and would never learn. I was extremely apprehensive about taking this class, having virtually no previous exposure to the language, but was surprisingly relieved. Although the material is difficult, and you will spend a great deal of time doing homework, the professor is helpful and encouraging. Practice, pay attention,and you will do fine. I highly recommend this class!
