Horrible professor; avoid at all costs. Gave unclear explanations and graded programming projects extremely unfairly. Cancelled half the scheduled lectures. TAs were of no help. Left students to flounder. A 40% was passing.

really clear in his explanation...he will explain the same thing 1000times if you want him to...he is just amazingly helpful for ECE 232..you never want to miss discussion because he is the only person that can help you in this class...the TAs are helpless and the leture instructor(p. Israel Koren) just does NOT make sense!!!!!!!

Amazingly clear, takes questions and understands students perspective. His answers hit the nail on the head. Available frequently for thought provoking discussions. Tests are hard and extrapolate on understanding of material in class. Very fair grading. One of the best classes I took at UMass.

It's a very frustrating and difficult class. I try to give the man a break because there is no way to make it easy and still learn a lot. If you take this class, find a group of people to study with. If they offer supplimental instruction from Learning Services - take it.
