Great professor with a great sense of humour. Clearly very knowledgeable and always made the topics interesting. Learned very valuable lessons in her class.

Candace is very pragmatic; she has a lot of experience as a translator and she will always capitalize on the exercises taken up in class to offer invaluable professional practical tips. As a Frenchman, her French is sloppy at times, not to mention out of date. I think she should limit herself at translating into English solely. Grading erratic.

I love Candace's Comparative Stylistics class. By all appearances Candace takes things really slow, but looking back, I really did learn a lot. You won't find the class very demanding, but do pay careful attention in class and take good notes, as this will have direct bearing on your test results. Making some friends with Francopone students helps.

Very knowledgeable & easy-going. Assignments & evaluations aren't very demanding; however, it's hard to gauge what she's actually looking for & her marking system doesn't make sense (i.e. a lot of 'B/B+' etc). Hard to get the mark you're actually expecting/hoping for since she doesn't teach per se, but you can learn a lot from just talking to her.

Erratic in marking. Sometimes not clear in answers to questions (answers can be subjective in translation). Engaging and really knows what she's talking about. Really makes you think. Doesn't assign too much work. Clear on what she wants for tests. Not a good INTRO course, but she makes it interesting. (Cheap textbook!)

Wasn't a bad prof, but wasn't a good intro into the TRAN stream. Wanted very specific things on her assignments but you never knew what. Exams were an easy way to make up marks though, as long as you'd been to class.
