He was AWFUL at teaching this language, but his easy grading made up for it. Classes were painfully boring & all over the place & he never really answered your question how you wanted him too. However, he gave us almost the exact test questions ahead of time to study. Made an A on all the tests but I'm pretty sure I'll fail 102.

Boring. Besides tests, which are essays, all you do is listen to him talk. He's a sweet man and you can tell he loves his job but he's boring. He grades papers a little hard. The book is basically useless. He talks about the stories but you don't have to. I won't say avoid him but there might be a different professor that you would like better.

I really enjoyed class with Thomas. He really wants everyone to learn and is passionate about Spanish. I didn't mind his accent, it made me more comfortable speaking Spanish and he is easy to understand. He gives you all the info you need to do well in the class. I definitely improved my Spanish speaking abilities thanks to him.

Terrible. Theres no other way to describe it. I came into this class fluent and left with less confidence in my spanish speaking abilities. He will grab you by the shoulders in class and shake you while you try to answer questions. Kind of distracting? Who knew spanish was a contact sport...

I loved this guy. He is hilarious, and keeps the class interesting just when you think you might fall asleep. I wouldn't say an "easy" grader, make sure you really revise the essays. Obviously passionate about his stuff. Very intelligent guy...will go on tangents but they are actually interesting ones. Really likes to roll his R's.

Super nice professor. The class is a little boring but very easy. 6 short papers (1-2 pages), 3 in class, 3 at home, make up your grade pretty much. And one oral presentation, super easy.

I was really not looking forward to this class at all but it's a breeze. Thomas' has a definite southern American accent when he speaks Spanish, but he's easy to understand. I thought it was going to require a lot more time, but all he assigns are two short readings a week and in class we basically just conjugate verbs. Plan on participating a lot!

Dr. Thomas is a good guy. Doesn't have the most authentic of accents, but if you participate, it's not hard to get a good grade. Really wants his students to be able to speak, and tries to break people's fear of speaking in class. Not too bad of a class at all.

Easy but boring. Same thing every single day, seriously. He makes class up as he goes. He's a strange guy. If you see him outside of class he won't say hi or even acknowledge you. It's the end of the semester and he still doesn't know my name in a class of 20 students. Speaks Spanish with an American southern accent. I won't take him again.

Not a bad class at all. Dr.Thomas is a little intense, but that is because he is very passionate about the subject he's teaching. He doesn't assign homework really, and only gives three papers, two tests, and the final. Definitely tries to give his students confidence in their speaking abilities to help them learn the language better.

if you don't have previous knowledge and/or interest of international business, politics, economics...don't take this class, it's pretty challenging. he's a cool guy, but he doesn't really teach you anything and there really is too much info to cover in one semester...especially when the material is not interesting and the class is boring.

Mr Thomas was a nice man who was helpful. I struggled a lot in Portuguese but he was very helpful and if he sees that you are trying and participating in class he will do what he can to help you in the class. I definetly recommend him for foreign language. He is also very passionate about what he teaches which makes class fun to go to.

mr. thomas shouldn't be teaching. he plays favorites, lets the book do all his work (and the book sucks!), and expects you to understand the way his mind works. he should go into politics because he is somewhat passioniate about that, but even then i wouldn't vote for him.
