Comment:
Carl is fantastic guy and is well liked, but it often seems like some of the subjects are taught superficially compared to his exam questions. If you expect to do well put in plenty of time going through problems and reading. It would have been easier if he had posted notes of his lectures compared to just writing on the whiteboard every class.

Carl is absolutely awesome! A little unorganized at times but very understanding and helpful when necessary. He understands that not everyone is a physics lover and teaches so that everyone will have a chance to understand the material. Great prof, great guy!!

Comment:
Carl is a great professor, and more importantly a great person. He is extremely kind, approachable, and extremely knowledgeable in physics. He tries his best to dumb concepts down to our level, even though sometimes he can't. He brings in class demonstrations frequently. Great prof, but a hard course.

Comment:
Carl is such a genuine professor, has so much respect and care for students, and overall wants to help you. One of the few profs on campus that takes the time to learn everyone's names (first and last) and connects with each student individually. He is not that organized, but at least he admits to it, and is extremely helpful during office hours.

I don't know why there are so many nice comments Carl was easily the worst instructor I ever had. It is almost impossible to get an answer, and was practically useless for extra help. Would often say "I can't help you then" if you didn't understand a concept. By far Carl's classes were the worst experience of my university career.

Carl is probably the only reason you'd take electronics... unless you're really into transistors.

Lectures are the best, which helps cause if you miss one it doesn't help to borrow someone's notes. Just don't get him started on preserves, unless you're into that kind of thing

You'll think he's a student teaching the course. He's so cool. He has a way to meet with the students that other profs can't do but he still remains professinal all the time. Get to know him outside of class! IT's worth it. In lecture, he could do a little more to make the notes clear, but you'll know whats coming on the final. Really helpful!
