D. Saperstein is one of the nicest and most helpful professors in the English department. He is super passionate about what he teaches but also whatever you want to write about. He is a fair grader and doesn't overload you with work. I've taken three classes with him and loved every one of them.

Great professor. I took him for intro to poetry writing. Makes class fun, and selected a great textbook for poetry. I would recommend taking him any chance you get.

He is very nice guy and fair when grading work. He keeps his opinion out of class discussion. I liked going to his class because we read some funny stuff. Even though it was an 8am, it was fun. I am taking him again next semester.

Plays favorites, but he is cool outside of class and one on one. Kind of a heavy workload and a lot of papers, but he gives great feedback and makes sure you get a good grade. I would highly recommend him. Just be sure you do all your poetry logs and write all your papers.

shakes is a bit drab but his enthusiasm for it will transcend upon you. keep up w your reading, suggest taking notes while reading each play, helpful in construction of response paper(s). McConnel also has BBC versions on video (4th floor media studies section)-- many follow the text verbatim. provide some participation here and there & voila.

Amazing teacher!!! If you can't get atleast a B in his class, then I don't know you got into school. He makes class "fun", but he does like to sit in circles, which is kind of annoying, but you learn to deal with it! Take him if you can!!!

Professor Saperstein was one of my favorite professors. The work was not hard at all.Every day we had to read two short stories and then write a journal on it- no more than 300 words. We had to write two essays, which were not hard at all.Attendance was mandatory, but trust me you'll get so much out of coming to class and will really enjoy it!

Dr Saperstein is really sweet and easy to work with. He doesn't put a lot of emphasis on grades, he just wants you to learn. Every English major should take him at least once.
