Comment:
Prof. Jubran is extremely smart and well-spoken! I took a course with him via IAU. He has an impressive grasp of Spanish history as well as great enthusiasm and humor. However, at times he seemed to alternate between being formally polite and irritatingly dismissive to me. Still, I favored him more than his lackluster program assistant(s).

Amazing!!! This class was taken with the Institute for American Universities with Prof. Jubran. We traveled for Three weeks to France, Spain and Morocco last Jan 2012. This was a life changing experience for me. Great professor and I learned a ton. I wish he taught more classes.

Span 302 civ of spain or cultures of Spain was an amazing class with Dr. J. Although we ran through 2000 years of history he was a wealth of knowledge and i learned a ton. oral presentations were tough and took a lot of prep work with my group but i loved the class and i would recommend to anyone. He is one of the best profs I have had at usd

Always late, never in office hours, constantly shows videos rather than teach material himself. He clearly expects students to take the class much more seriously than he did...which seems unfair for those who want to earn good grades but are unclear on how to do so.

Good professor, really advanced my learning, pretty thorough tests (study and read the material, he'll know if you don't and grade accordingly.) He was habitually late to class (15-20 min avg.), which lacks professionalism and to me, indicates he doesn't value his students' time. Wouldn't recommend based solely on that; it's rude.

Great professor. Everything is straight out of the text book - you just have to read well. Classes are pretty relaxed and mostly consist of Jubran talking about Spanish cultural history with over-the-top enthusiasm and Spanish accent impersonations. Definitely recommend him.

Jubran is an awesome prof, and the class is super easy if you are not stupid. Its interesting, it can be kind of slow if you are a native spanish speaker and things seem way too easy but it really boosts your GPA and counts as upper div for the major...but he is very awesome and smart and you do learn a things or two.

Jubran is probably the best professor I have ever had. He is brilliant, funny, very fair, and just has a passion for what he does. You will learn alot in this class. Go to class, do the reading, study for the tests, and your grade will be fine - I got an A. I cannot give a better rating for a professor. Take Jubran.

Here is the hist on Jubs... He is probably one of the most brilliant profs at USD. Great teacher, but he is very demanding! He exoects a lot out of his students, but if you go to class and listen to how brilliant he is, you will understand the concepts and will do fine on the tests and Quizes. His grading is a little unclear though...

I think he thinks he's cool and that kinda sucks. He's not too detail oriented but it could be worse. I just wish he was a more fair grader.
