This is a rare professor who actually takes education seriously. He knows his material well, and does his best to teach it. Unfortunately his popularity suffers among the majority of students who were simply trying to get through the class without actually knowing anything!

I think this guy needs to have his teaching style reevaluated. There is no structure in his class so we don't know what topic will be lectured on next and we are not able to prepare for a test far enough in advance. There is a lot of material and he just throws it at us expecting us to understand it a few days before an exam.

I took a class with him a few semesters ago. The class was easy, but his grading style was terrible. He only accepts answers that are EXACTLY what he's looking for; anything slightly different gets 0 points. When two people gets A's and the next highest score is a 56, you know something is wrong! Stay away from this guy...

PLEASE DON"T TAKE THIS GUY. HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED. only passed because im fluent in Vb6 and just had to learn the changes to .net. Anyone with no vb experience is in trouble BIG TIME. has stundents HELP HIM ENTER his account info because he can't log in. Doesn't know how to program, teach, or basicly function like a normal person. waste of time

The man is in love with Eiffel. He also didn't seem to listen to what students were saying as a responce to his questions. Every time he asked a question and a student answered, he would say no thats not right. Then he would tell us the answer is actualy.... and he always said exactly what the student had said. It was an easy A though, but Operating Systems are one of my interests.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He's probably one of the worst teachers in the CECS department. Avoid if at all possible. His tests are all short answers. Don't try to use any knowledge you may have of the way operating systems work now... he follows a model that was typical in the late 1970's. I've written my own operating system in assembly/C and I barely managed to get a C in his class. I guess it was kind of deserving. Make sure you pay attention, write what he says on the test, and forget it later.

He is horrible. He doesn't know how to do his own assignments. He asks questions about the material and gets frustrated when noone will answer because he will tell you it's such a bad answer and then say it actualy is blah blah blah. The problem is he normally says what the student said nearly word for word. And always with Eiffel... let it go man!

Lives in Utah and flies into LAX before class twice a week..cancelled class twice because of this, which is cool. Don't expect much out of the lecture. Nice guy, bad teacher.

Should have taken it as a bad sign that he was the only 424 professor using a different book. The book was useless - I rarely opened it. We swore that he owned stock in the company that makes Eiffel.... I definitely don't recommend him.
