Intro. to Bio with him isn't as humourous, nor as dull, as some of the other professors are rumored to be, but it's not horrible. Sometimes his slides are a little much, and many of the points he stresses are obvious and overemphasized. He also makes you read his book and write essays on it, not as much fun a final project as other professors.

Worst professor I've ever had. Classes are preaching sessions, not learning. All real education is via inane WebCT trivia assignments. Intimidates class into participation, as in "Morale will improve or the beatings will continue!" Instead of teaching, executes in-class worship of historical biologists and their presumed genious. Try Hanna instead.

has the most unclear questions for every test and quiz. two mini quizzes for every class plus an essay for every class. havent really learned anything because he's trying to smush too much into one semester. cant teach himself, just uses video and articles from online.

he sucks at life. he ruined my life, and harassed me every single day I went to class. a HUGE nightmare. If you insist on taking his class, never mention if you believe religion, because he is a judgemental evolutionary biologist and will make your life a living hell if you even question evolution or the big bang theory. He talks down to his students, and expects you to worship him in the process.

Best teacher I've ever had at RPI. Class was very interesting, and enjoyed every lecture. Tests are hard, but if you just memorize the homework, and past test answers your fine... You can gain a lot from this Prof.
