Avoid this prof. Very condescending, will not accept any discussion ideas other than whats written in the textbook even though this is a philosophy class. Even if you try so hard and do all the readings, she doesn't say exactly what she wants. Doesn't give any feedback either, instead will get upset at you for questioning her way of marking

Forde's teaching style was completely Inaccessible. She was condescending and rude to students who had legitamte questions. Her lectures do not cover what's on the tests And she is not accommodating. If you do bad don't quit !! Prof macintosh teaches the second half and he is SO good and can bring your grade up substantially if you work with him

Worst prof ever... avoid if possible. I was very excited for this class and she made the course down right painful. Even if you do the readings and attend class it won't help. TA provided was awful, very little direction or feedback was given. An insult to Philosophy if you ask me, very happy to have a different (and amazing) prof for second term.

Show up to class. Do your readings. However, it's hard to know what to study or how to prepare for the tests. The midterms are very difficult and you need to have an extremely good understanding of the course material to do even moderately well. The TA's are terrible and give terrible feedback. They don't post your grades on brightspace either

I am very disappointed with this course. I was really looking forward to learning about philosophy but she is a horrible professor and the classes are painful to sit through. She cuts people off when they are talking, talks about the same topic for days on end, and does not give clear instructions for tests and assignments. Avoid this prof!

Coming into first year, I was incredibly excited to take my first Philosophy course. Unfortunately, Forde manages to make a course with such interesting material boring, and teaches with clear bias. She becomes condescending when students dont share her opinions, and her lectures are all over the place.

Avoid at all costs. She took a course with so much potential and limited it to the scope of Radical Feminism. She makes it abundantly clear that this scope ought to be the only scope.

I loved her as a prof. Nice energy and rhythm of work. She understood when i asked for an extension when i was sick and marked my papers fairly. I am surprised she has bad feed back.

Awful class and a waste of time. She puts students to sleep, and is very closed minded. Couldn't have chosen a worse set of textbooks. She never explains a topic well. I wouldn't suggest taking her classes to my worst enemy.

This course was very disappointing. It should be taught by someone with an open mind. Radical Feminism is the only view given.

She is an excellent professor. Makes learning about complex philosophy fun and interesting. The discussion format of the class helps keep a high level of engagement with the students that care about what they are learning. The amount of discussion in the class keeps things interesting and she facilitates people's ideas well.

I don't know if it's the course material itself but this class is the most boring, useless class I have attended till now. The professor isn't making it any easier. Late corrections, unclear assignments, long readings that don't really matter to a computer science student (2 books and many articles) are really frustrating examples.

Nice person, bad teacher. Her lecture slides were unorganised and she didn't go into anything in depth. Easy tests but you will learn nothing. When I went to ask her about our ONLY philosophy reading in a philosophy class she told be I would not be tested on it and dismissed me. You will not learn anything from this class.

This teacher is useful for not much else than putting her students to sleep. Her voice was perhaps the most monotonous, shrill carrier of sound i have encountered in my life so far. She should not be a teacher.

This prof took all my interest away from womens' studies. It's incredibly boring and most of the things we talked about in class I knew about before I ever set foot into the classroom. The material is dull and she always seems stressed. Not to mention, she never meets with you when she promises to.

this was a great course. The lectures were good, and the tests/exams and essays were fair. She managed to pack in a lot of topics into a half-year course and her lecturing style led us to come up with the answers ourselves, instead of being spoon-fed. I would take another course with this prof.
