Dr. Marsh-Lockett is the greatest! She is tough and pushes her students to reach their fullest potential. Dr. Marsh-Lockett is fair, caring, and takes her work and that of students seriously. She pushed me out of my comfort zone and broke my laziness and mediocre performance. I am a greater English scholar because of her. Thank you so much!!!

This is the worst teacher I've ever had in my entire life. If she doesn't like you, you won't pass her class. She has a mean look on her face and very disrespectful. She claims that she is a pastor's wife but acts nothing like a Christian. BE AWARE, if you want to maintain a higher GPA, DO NOT TAKE THIS WOMAN. She will fail you on purpose.

Worst teacher at GSU! Do not take this class. I did the assignments read what I was supposed to. Scheduled meetings with her which she chose not to show up and did not have a valid excuse for not showing up. Take this class from someone else!

The contents of the class were interesting. You must read your assignments of course and come to class. She gives study guides and the tests are from it. But may only be from 3 of the 6 pages she gives you.Course looks simply with only 3 tests but I don't recommend her for non-english majors.

Dr. Marsh-Lockett's class is not very hard, but you HAVE to read the assigned texts and you HAVE to turn in your assignments on time.

She's a tough one! Get through her first paper and it will be well worth it. She's a smart women who has realized that her academic world has very little to do with our undergraduate degrees. You'll learn something--just write what she tells you... who needs individual thinking :)

She gets away with seeming knowledgable and prepared by speaking with sternness and confidence. Don't be fooled. She's close minded, disagreeable, and completely unclear about assignments and rubrics. Sure, if you read and pay attention you'll pass her class, but you won't be learning anything new. Rather you'll be regurgitating her own commentary.

Well-educated,MUST read/attempt to dissect texts which are all interesting, lectures/discussions on readings, research paper, Her class is CHALLENGING, Why come to class to sleep, talk, text, walk in/leave during lectures, etc? So she does 'correct' people. IT'S COLLEGE 90 minutes of a higher education won't kill you.

I personally do not understand why people have put up bad reviews of her. She's an excellent professor. No, she isn't easy, but if you just do the work she asks of you, you'll have no problem passing. Her tests are straight forward. Read, go to class, take notes, study, and you'll have no reason not to make an A.

I took her this summer. Although she may seem like a good teacher my advice is to drop her and let other people suffer. Her tests are difficult and not consistent. I took the class a a competent junior and I struggled with her style and attitude

All you gotta do is read the books and she gives you plenty of time to read them, better if you get them before class starts and read a couple before semester. Easy A. All tests were same exact format so you know what to look for when reading after first test. Highly recommend. Don't get smart with her though and you will be good!!!

Though she was often late and missed a few classes, she is not a horrible teacher. She is very clear when she teaches and everything she says will most likely be on the exam. You must READ the books or you will not do very well. She does seem to have very staunch opinions on certain topics, but they do not interfere with her teaching.

She was rude and had no sense of humor at all. Very uptight. She might be a nice lady, but you could never tell by the constant scowl she seems to have. Really made the material hard to understand and didn't really seem to advocate you having your own train of thought, but really wanted you to have your opinions match hers or else.

The assignments are in no way challenging. The difficult part is keeping up with the one-book-per-day rate and putting up with her rude comments. I've had some rude teachers before, but she takes the cake. Although, she's still not the worst professor I've had.

Very disappointed that it seems very difficult for males to get an A in her class. There is also an approach as if the Professor is teaching junior-high students. Sit still, don't move, don't talk to your neighbor, and dare not try to leave class early. If you should try any of these you know a sarcastic remark is heading your way.

She is definitely not a piece of cake but she's not horrible either! Make sure you read IN DEPTH b/c she'll throw 1 or 2 things on tests to see how closely you read. Also picks on people to talk during discussion so be prepared if you get nervous when put on the spot! Read, take good notes, participate in class, study and you should do just fine!!

The bookstore didn't order our books, Marsh-Lockett pressed on with lectures anyway. Most of the time the class didn't know what she was talking about because we were so far behind. Books interesting, but she's very discouraging. She told us she would sleep just fine failing us all. Was not inspired to learn. GLAD IT'S OVER!!!!

The reading materials were fascinating, but the paper you write on each one had to deal with the same subject matter for every one, which became boring and monotonous. The final is a long paper on all of the books read (about 8). To me, her lectures and terms are hard to understand and that is precisely what she looks for in the papers.

You have to read to pass, and think beyond the surface of the books. Footnotes are not available for most books. I got an A so can't complain

Comment:
If you register for classes merely to add hours and graduate sooner, do not take one of her classes. You have to have some iota of INTEREST in what you're studying to appreciate the class, not merely an expectation to be out in an hour and fifteen minutes. She's a challenge, but if you care enough, it won't make a difference.
