Rudest professor I've ever encountered at Gettysburg. Is intelligent (i guess) but cannot teach for the life of her. She is an old bitter women who complains more about her personal life than she does teaching about Art History. She takes every opportunity she can to criticize our generation and makes judgements about the character of her students.

She is BRILLIANT. Expects a lot. Take her class if you're genuinely interested in art. Avoid the survey of western art class if possible. she is the most knowledgable prof of the art history dept. show your effort, and she will like you.

very challenging, but you learn so much. she is brilliant. the smartest person i know. take good notes, read the textbook, and always show up to class. have a good attitude and show interest and effort,and she will love you. very hard class, but very rewarding.

Prof. Small is insane, but lovable. I definitely like her as a person. She is very knowledgeable, helpful, and encouraging, but her class structure is too rigid. No variation or leeway. You learn because of the forced memorization (I wish there was more application), not because she is skilled in teaching.

There is such a split opinion here on Prof. Small. First day of class, she DID seem to be as crazy as everyone said she was. In fact, we lost a few students! But I found her hilarious and amiable. She is so helpful outside the classroom. The course is hard but was a favorite. I studied like crazy and got B+/A- on everything. She's worth knowing.

She's a somewhat nice teacher, but she is scatterbrained. I have no background in VAH and while it is a passable, its just barely. I'm a good student and I'm scraping by. Show up to class,won't help much though. She plays favorites, and its difficult to succeed. If you want to protect your GPA, take it Passfail or not at all.

Definitly a few screws loose, but an ok teacher. She is very helpful and even gives her house number for any questions. Her grades reflect your effort and interest in the class. If not so much into art, probably shouldn't take her courses

Took this class to see if I would enjoy art history..worst decision I ever made. She favors art hist majors and previous students a ridiculous amount, which will definitely show in your grades. no amount of studying I did for a quiz got me above a b.

I'm sure she knows her stuff, but she openly contradicts herself so often I can't tell just what that "stuff" is. Harsh grader, and favors students she's had before. My only A was an assignment that I threw together; the stuff I worked hard on got bad marks. If you're waffling about taking a class of hers, I say don't bother.

Worst person I have ever met in my life. She needs to retire. Her laugh sends chills down my spine. The onyl thing she talks about in class is whether or not its photorealistic. Bashes everyone. Avoid her class cause she does not care what you have to say. If she doesn't like you, you'll be lucky to get a c-. Teachers like her kill your gpa.

She treats a 100 level class as though its a 400 level seminar, you go to her for help? you dont get any. Very ambiguous and the worst part about it is that she grades based on personality. Depending on if she likes you or not is the only thing that matters in her class, you can do A work, but still get a C- becuase she grades on personality.

Eccentric insanity. I wanted to be an art history major before I met her. One 10-page paper due at the end of the semester. Most of the reading in on reserve in the library (for 120), which was a pain. Text is hardly ever used; do not waste your money or your time. Take Felicia Else if you want to enjoy class.

This woman is insane. She is all over the place. Very demanding. I am an art person but I avoid her classes like crazy.
