Comment:
Absolutely the hardest class in Hofstra. She is helpful, I have to give her that, but the tests are insanely hard. She does not curve what so ever. She needs specific words for every question on the exam. I wrote around those words but didnt state those exact words and I got 2/20 on a question. Terrible class, GPA DESTROYER!!!!!

BIO 11 is the toughest class i've ever taken. You will never have a break because there will always be an assignment/hw/test/quiz throughout the week. Combined with lab, this course is extremely stressful and you must dedicate most of your time in order to do well. Dr St. Angelo does her best to teach but it could have been better

Professor St. Angelo is one of the best professors out there in the biology field. She is more than willing to help her students. She often wants to student to learn a lot. Now I have taken this class twice, and the second time around, I really put my head into the book.. Not an easy class at all, but the A grade is reachable.Get serious!

Dr. St. Angelo is a great professor. If you keep up with what's going on in class and read the textbook you'll be fine. She likes hardworking students and will do everything she can to help you out, you just have to be willing to work or you won't do well. Tests are somewhat difficult, but bio isn't the easiest subject. I wish she taught bio 12.

Dr. St. Angelo is a great professor. She honestly cares about her students and is so enthusiastic about biology. She's the best professor I've had so far at Hofstra. I highly recommend you take her for Bio 11, & any other Biology course. If you need help, she's always there to answer your questions! Go to her office hours & show that you care!

Very very very hard course. She is very nice but she gives sooo much work, and she doesnt understand that we have other classes too. She thinks she is funny when she is not. Gives quizes on every chapter. Some are really hard. Exams are insane. Does not curve. The class is so hard and you learn so much that you will never forget(the only good part)

Professor St. Angelo is the best! She cares deeply about her subject and is extremely knowledgable. It's a hard class but do the readings and study and it's not difficult at all! Her grading policy is clear and fair and she is an absolute sweetheart. Her laugh is hysterical!

Dr. St. Angelo is a phenomenal professor. She has a true passion for cell biology and her enthusiasm is infectious. Her tests are different in that they are problems and not just definition- at first this is difficult, but once you get used to it you see how this type of thinking really enables you to learn. Hofstra is lucky to have her!

nice lady just act like you really care. calls on people randomly in class and makes it awkward if you dont know the answer which 90% of the class never does. if you want to do well make sure you read the chapter/slides before going over it in class. labs take more than 3 hours. never expect to get out early. she loves bio. i hate fruit flies.

Very hard class, but she does an excellent job with the lab. Lecture is difficult, but if you ask questions she is very helpful and will explain. She definitely enjoys her subject, which is a nice touch, and she does make jokes that not everyone gets. Of course, not everyone pays attention. Take good notes and study and you'll get a B, easy.

Took this class as a pre-med requirement over the summer. Everything was very straight forward. You know the exact breakdown of the points system on day one. You have to go because there are in class assignments, but they're helpful for exams. If you want to do well (& she knows it) you easily can. Slides are on-line & reading the text helps a lot.

She is a nice lady, knows what she is talking about and always willing to take questions. The tests are a bit harder considering they don't go over exactly what she does in class, but if you go to the classes, read over the notes, and do the practice tests you will be fine. Not an easy as anything class, but it's really not that bad.

She was nice. I tried hard and got a B+. No matter how hard you study for the test, you will probably get a bad score. Class averages were in the 60s for all tests. Labs are half the grade, and you are aloud to re-write lab reports. Pretty much, if you work really hard you will get a B or higher.

Tests are really hard!!! The clss average is a 64 and she does not curve and does not really care either. I have something due for this lady every week. She grades our writing assignments as if we are Biology majors. I do more work for this class then all of my other 4 classes combined.

Tests are really hard!!! Not an easy requirement at all. She is nice but do not take Bio 003 if you want an easy science requirement. There are 3 tests, 3-4 writing assignments, and one lab report.
