Dr. Carvill is a wonderful professor. Being at an engineering school, she actually understands. She lets you pick test dates and paper dates. She is super laid back. She is awesome. The only bad part is that she teaches HSS classes at an engineering school. Basically the classes suck, but she is awesome and understanding.

The professor is great. You need to read about 15 pages almost everyday, and be prepared for quiz. The class is interesting. The paper is hard for me to get a score of an A. But it should not be hard to get at least a B.

Dr. Carvill's class was not particularly the hardest thing. Her classes were interesting and you talked about cool things instead of heavy reading or lecture. It is just very hard to get an A in this class, as a ton of your grade is based off of 4 papers and she grades the papers fairly hard, especially for engineering students.

After taking a college English class in high school (and having it rejected by the registrar,) this class was just a breeze. Dr. Carvill is very helpful, but doesn't have grading rubrics, as she likes to see what you can come up with. She also is very willing to help with non-class-related assignments. Very approachable and easy to talk to!

Great prof. Interesting and fun. Isn't scared to curse occasionally and whatnot which is refreshing. Easy to talk to after class as well. With me was flexible with due dates and understanding. Only downside is grading (kinda). Easy to get a B, hard to get an A. Taken twice, and will again.

I thought the class was a lot of fun. Or, it could have been had we had a slightly better selection of plays the second half of the quarter. It was all great up through Hamlet, then we seemed to hit the era of almost everything stinking to High Heaven. I do reccomend "The Importance of Being Earnest", though.
