Dennis is a great teacher. He will take as much time as you need to make sure you understand a concept and will work one on one. One person said he doesn't answer questions. In fact, he often has a hard time hearing questions, so you need to make sure he sees you waving your hand around. I would gladly take other classes from him.

Experienced in the film world. Class moves quickly, but the textbook is easy to understand and he does respond to emails. About 4-6 hours of homework a week. Read the book, do the homework, go to class and you will be fine. Grades pretty straightforward as long as you do the homework.

Dennis definatley has experience, and knows what he's talking about... but he doesn't teach it very well. I would ask questions and his responses were always sidetracked never answering the questions. He did not help us study for the book exams, or even know what to study in that matter.

He really knows what he is talking about. Follow the instructions in the book to do assignments and you will do fine. Also the quizzes are unlimited attempts and time on Canvas. There are two major tests. One midterm that is a multiple choice test on the first book. Then the Final that you have to put in everything you learned into one last project

Dennis is not a good teacher. He has decent experience but rarely answers questions or covers topics that have any actual application to the industry. He only caters to the needs to students that constantly brown nose him.He forgot when the midterm was, showed up 30 min late, & then went to print off the test. DGM 3520 is an exact repeat of DGM 2210

Broadcasting sports games; requires being able to devote afternoons and evenings to work on a broadcast, about 8 different games per semester, which really isn't bad. Not much classwork outside of that. Pick a position you are comfortable with, there's not that much pressure. If you can make the games, and do a good job, the class is pretty easy.

Fun class if you're into film. Casual class sessions, minimal assignments, fair grader. He teaches good theory, but can be meandering at times. He expects you to have a competent knowledge of programs and technical terms, so try to take him right after 2110 and 2540 (3540 if possible). If you read the (awesome) textbook, exams are easy.

This guy is very serious and does not waste any time. I would recommend one to spend a lot of time in the textbook. A very hard class to take. Half of the students dropped him including me. I worked my but off and I was getting a C. I didn't want to risk failing the class. don't take him or the class, unless you know what your really doing.

I had to drop this class because it was so time intensive that I couldn't do anything but his homework. If you have never used final cut pro, you better learn how before you take this class. and let me just say ARROGANT!

Lisonbee is a good teacher that know's what he's doing. Show up to class, learn final cut pro as much as possible because it will help you when you edit your 5 minute movie. You have to learn how to use "Final Cut Pro!" This is a class that requires you to be there everday.

This class was ok, the textbook sucks! I felt like Dennis had a hard time teaching it because it was only first section in the summer, the only thing that made it hard was that Dennis didn't correct the papers so it was hard to gage how to write for the other professor. Overall it was easy and good.

Dennis' special topics in motion picture or whatever that class is called is a form of hell. It's the class where you are the technical crew for broadcasting both UVX News and all of the school's basketball games. This class consumes so much time and is not fun. Unless you are planning on being some sort of news crew employee DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

Lisonbee is the man. He knows his stuff and he teaches for learning not just to teach, like many other teachers do. He will help you but you usually have to ask. (DUH!) If you don't read the book and mess up on something that you should know he will get on you about it! Great guy.

I have had Dennis for 4 classes and over time I have really learned from him. He is intimidating if you are not serious and calls you on it. I think people misunderstand him . If you are an apathetic student you wont like him. If you want to learn you will Love him! I got an A in 3 classes And 'B' in one I flaked in.He should have given me a C. :)

I really didn't enjoy this class as much as I thought I would. Largely because of the rambling and the disorganization of the professor. However, I still learned some very important concepts. Lisonbee does have some very good knowledge of real world multimedia and can give you some good ideas. You just have to overlook his biases.

I have had Dennis for 3 years now, and I think he is an excellant professor and he knows what he is talking about. I agree on the rambling on about nothing but for the majority he is a good teacher and I would definately recommend him!

Dennis is a good teacher, because he knows his sh*t. He'll show you how to do stuff you need to know, IF YOU ASK. He does run his mouth alot, so people hate on him because of it, but if you really do what he tells you to, you'll get an A.

Dennis is a fairly smart guy, but a crappy teacher. If you have any experience before you take is class he treats you like crap. He is arrogant and very condescending. If you have to take this class take it from someone else.

He has been an excellent teacher. He has a lot of real world experience that's is invaluable to students and that is very hard to find in a lot of professors. I would recommend him hands down to anyone taking this class or any others.
